🐱 貓咪的尾巴在告訴你什麼？

貓咪的尾巴比狗狗更細膩、更多變，
從獸醫行為學的角度，我們可以分為三大情緒類別來觀察：
😊 正向情緒 —— 放鬆、安心、親近
🔹 尾巴自然豎起，尾端微微彎曲
心情好、放鬆，對環境和人都感到安心，是社交意願高的表現。
🔹 尾巴緩慢擺動，幅度輕柔
處於舒適狀態，可能正在享受當下，例如被撫摸時出現這種動作通常代表喜歡。
🔹 尾巴高高豎起，接近垂直
自信、友善，主動傳遞「我沒有威脅」的訊號，願意親近。
😟 焦慮 / 不確定 —— 緊張、猶豫、矛盾
🔹 尾巴下垂，尾端微微彎曲
情緒偏低，對當下狀況有些保留或不太確定。
🔹 尾巴水平伸直，輕輕甩動
正在專注評估周遭環境，處於「觀察中」的狀態。
🔹 尾巴快速抽動或甩動（左右或上下）
煩躁或不耐煩的表現，代表「我不喜歡這樣」，建議先暫停當下的動作。
😨 恐懼 / 警戒 —— 害怕、防衛、攻擊前兆
🔹 尾巴夾在後腿之間或貼緊身體
明顯的緊張或恐懼，處於退縮、自我保護狀態。
🔹 尾巴炸毛（毛髮豎起、變兩倍粗）
高度警戒，受到驚嚇或感到威脅，屬於防衛機制的啟動。
🔹 尾巴僵直、靜止、微微顫抖
極度緊張或準備攻擊的前兆，建議立即停止互動並給予距離。

A cat’s tail is even more nuanced than a dog‘s.
From a veterinary behavior perspective, we can group their tail signals into three emotional categories:
😊 Positive — Relaxed, Secure, Affectionate
🔹 Tail held upright with a slight curl at the tip
In a good mood, feeling safe — a clear sign of social willingness.
🔹 Tail swaying gently and slowly
Comfortable and content — often seen during petting when they’re enjoying it.
🔹 Tail held high, nearly vertical
Confident and friendly — actively signaling ”I‘m not a threat“ and open to approach.
😟 Anxious / Uncertain — Nervous, Hesitant, Conflicted
🔹 Tail lowered with a slight curve at the tip
Feeling low-key or unsure about the current situation.
🔹 Tail held straight out with light flicks
Focused on assessing the environment — in ”observation mode.“
🔹 Tail twitching or flicking rapidly (side to side or up and down)
Sign of irritation or impatience — meaning ”I don’t like this.“ Best to pause whatever you‘re doing.
😨 Fearful / Alert — Scared, Defensive, Pre‑aggressive
🔹 Tail tucked between the legs or pressed against the body
Clear sign of fear or stress — in a withdrawn, self‑protective state.
🔹 Tail puffed up (hair standing, doubled in thickness)
High alert — startled or feeling threatened; a defensive mechanism has been triggered.
🔹 Tail stiff, still, with subtle tremors
Extreme tension or a potential pre‑attack signal — stop interaction immediately and give distance.
