Jazz是一隻14歲的拉布拉多貴賓犬（Labradoodle）。就在幾週前，這個可愛的毛孩還在我們的急診室裡與死神搏鬥。
事發時Jazz 像平常一樣出門散步，但出發後不久，他突然呼吸急促並在路邊倒下。家人見狀立刻將他送往家庭獸醫診所，但由於他當時處於極度危急狀態，隨即被轉診到我們的24小時急症室。Jazz 送到醫院時正大口喘氣。我們的醫療團隊立刻採取行動為他插管以確保呼吸道暢通，並進行深度鎮靜，好讓他的身體能好好休息。在團隊全力穩定他的同時，血液檢查報告卻顯示他的凝血功能嚴重延長。這意味著他的血液無法正常凝固，隨時面臨體內嚴重出血的危險。為了糾正這個問題，我們隨即為他進行了緊急的血漿（Fresh Frozen Plasma）輸液治療。
由於病情非常危急，Jazz 隨後住進了重症監護病房（ICU），並由專屬護士進行一對一的特別照護。在接受鎮靜與插管期間，他整整臥床了3天，需要醫療團隊極其細心的身體支持與照護。甦醒過後，他花了一些時間才慢慢恢復體力。但經過醫護團隊7天不分晝夜的全力搶救與合作，Jazz 終於挺了過來！他現在已經順利出院，在最近的覆診中，更看到他已恢復往日的快樂與活力！🎉
雖然我們未必總能查明每次突發病症的發病誘因，但 Jazz 當時的症狀（突然倒地、嚴重呼吸困難及凝血功能異常），都是中毒、中暑或急性過敏性休克的典型徵兆。這些都是真正的醫療緊急狀況，每分每秒都至關重要。我們的急診室全年無休、24小時開放，配備了完善的醫療設施，隨時準備應對像 Jazz 這樣的危急病況。

🐾 MEDICAL MYSTERY: The Story of Jazz’s Miraculous Recovery 🩺
Meet Jazz, a 14-year-old Labradoodle. Just a few weeks ago, this sweet boy was fighting for his life in our Emergency Room.
Jazz went out for his routine daily walk, but shortly after, he started breathing heavily and suddenly collapsed. His family rushed him to their primary vet, but because he was in such a critical state, he was immediately referred to our advanced ER service.
When Jazz arrived, he was gasping for air. Our team acted instantly to intubate him and secure his airway, placing him under heavy sedation so his body could rest. While our team stabilized him, blood work revealed that his clotting profile was severely prolonged, meaning his blood could not clot properly, putting him at risk of severe internal bleeding. To correct this, we immediately initiated an urgent transfusion of Fresh Frozen Plasma.
Because of his critical status, Jazz was admitted to our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with private, one-on-one nursing care. He remained completely recumbent for 3 days while being sedated and intubated, requiring dedicated physical support. After waking up, it took him some time to regain his strength, but through 7 days of intense teamwork, Jazz fought his way through. He was finally discharged home, and at his recent recheck exam, he was officially back to his happy self! 🎉
While we can't always pinpoint the exact trigger for every sudden crisis, Jazz's symptoms (sudden collapse, severe breathing distress, and a prolonged clotting profile) can be signs of toxicity, heatstroke, or acute anaphylactic shock. These are true medical emergencies where every second counts. Our Emergency Room is open 24/7, 365 days a year, fully equipped to handle critical situations just like Jazz's.
