How do you measure success on a weight management journey?⁣

For many people, success is defined by one thing: the number on the scale.⁣

But what if real success is about so much more?⁣

In my clinical practice, I often ask clients to weigh themselves and measure their waist circumference once a week—not as a form of judgment, but as a way of tracking progress and staying accountable. Weight can be a useful data point, but it is only one piece of the puzzle (technically, it’s just your gravitational pull with the Earth!).⁣

The most meaningful changes often happen long before the scale reflects them.⁣

Success might look like:⁣
✨ Feeling calmer and more confident around food⁣
✨ Letting go of all-or-nothing thinking⁣
✨ Eating more consistently, even on busy days⁣
✨ Enjoying food without guilt or anxiety⁣
✨ Sleeping better, feeling stronger, and moving with more ease⁣
✨ Speaking to yourself with greater kindness⁣
✨ Seeing improvements in health markers such as HbA1c, cholesterol levels, or nutrient deficiencies⁣

These wins may not show up on the scale straight away, but they are often the strongest signs that lasting change is happening.⁣

Take a moment to ask yourself: What does success look like for you?⁣

Because progress is about more than a number. It’s about how you feel, how you live, and the habits you’re building for the long term.💛⁣

Happy  💚

Feel so lucky to love my job.

Being a dietitian has never just been a job for me. It’s part of purpose. My dharma.

I genuinely feel privileged that my work allows me to combine so many things I love.
Science (my favourite!), clinical practice, communication, education, research, food, performance, women’s health, writing, speaking and working alongside brilliant multidisciplinary teams.

At its heart, being a dietitian for me is about helping people feel seen.

In a world overflowing with nutrition advice, my role is to help bridge the gap between knowledge and action. To take the science and make it practical, personal and meaningful for the person sitting in front of me, reading my articles, listening to me speak, or turning the pages of one of my books.

That’s what I love most.

Looking through my camera roll today reminded me just how varied this career is and how lucky I am to do what I do every day:
📸 Clinical days with my athletes and clients. You challenge me, teach me and inspire me to continually learn and grow.
🤎 Working alongside incredible colleagues who remind me that a whole-person approach is always the best approach.
🔬 Diving into the research and staying rooted in the science ( always with a view if possible!)
🎙️ Working with the media to help cut through the nutrition noise. Massive shout out to me incredible fellow dietitians who are also in the fight!
🥣 Partnering with brands like Indi that are committed to making nutrition both credible and delicious.
🏃🏾‍♀️ Bringing together my passions for women’s health and performance nutrition.
💚 Being part of the BDA Women’s Health Specialist Group and helping shape conversations around women’s health.
🍽️ Creating recipes and proving that nutritious food can taste amazing ( get them all in my new book Life After Weightloss Meds!)
✨ And having a lot of fun along the way - as it’s a key part of helping me show up as my best self in the work I do too!

Satiety isn’t about eating less — it’s about eating smarter.⁣

The satiety index shows us which foods keep us fuller for longer… but the real power is in how you build your meals.⁣

Think satiety stacking:⁣

✅ protein + fibre + healthy fats + high-volume foods⁣

✨Stay fuller⁣
✨Fewer cravings⁣
✨Less overeating⁣

Work with your hunger, not against it. 💯 ⁣

Do You Actually Need Electrolyte Supplements?⁣

Electrolyte supplements are another example of something that used to sit firmly in the sports space, but have now gone very mainstream. I keep getting asked about them — and if my algorithm is anything to go by, I’m apparently supposed to need them too.⁣

I filmed this at the end of a full clinic, so a few words might be a little jumbled. And when I talk about electrolytes here, I’m mainly referring to electrolyte supplements.⁣

✅ The aim of this video is simply to give you clear, objective information so you can make an informed decision.⁣

Hope you find it helpful. ⁣

The mistake? Thinking weight loss is the goal.⁣

Maintenance is where the real work begins — and where most people struggle.⁣

It’s not about willpower. It’s about building a way of eating and living you can actually sustain.⁣

Save this if you’re thinking long-term! ✅ 👏⁣

Creatine is everywhere right now — but the conversation isn’t as clear as it seems.⁣

Yes, it’s one of the most researched supplements we have.⁣
Yes, it can be beneficial for the right person.⁣

But it’s not a magic fix for energy, brain fog or hormones — despite what you might be hearing.⁣

The real question isn’t “should I take creatine?” It’s “are my foundations in place?”⁣

Because no supplement will outwork:⁣

✅ Consistent strength training⁣
✅ Enough protein⁣
✅ Balanced nutrition⁣
✅ Good sleep⁣
✅ Stress management⁣

Creatine is a tool — not a shortcut. Use it to enhance, not replace, the basics. ⁣

Save this if you’re trying to cut through the noise! ⁣
