Summer EOTTP 體驗營——重新定義你對「治療」的想像😊
在這個差不多暑假嘅尾聲，我們為中學生💜打造了一場獨一無二的職業治療（Occupational Therapy）探索之旅——Elite Occupational Therapist Taster Programme (EOTTP)。在這裡，你不會只是坐著聽課，而是親身走進職業治療的真實世界，感受這門專業如何以「生活」為核心，幫助人們重拾有意義的生活。💚💚
職業治療的核心：讓「生活」成為治療本身
職業治療師關心的不是單一的「動作」，而是整個人如何在環境中過好每一天。從兒童的感覺統合、長者的家居安全，到殘疾人士的輔助科技設計，OT 的視角始終圍繞著「什麼對這個人來說是重要的」——然後透過創造性的活動與環境調整，讓他們能夠參與、投入、享受生活。
💚親手做、親身試，體驗式學習
EOTTP 的特色在於「動手」與「反思」：
💪🏻手托製作工作坊：在導師一步步帶領下，你將學習製作護指托，體驗職業治療師如何用一雙巧手和工具，「雕塑」出功能與舒適並重的治療輔具。
💪🏻模擬個案分析：以小組形式分析真實改編的臨床個案，練習職業治療師的思考邏輯——不只看到「問題」，更看到「可能性」。
💪🏻先進教學設施導覽：走訪理大的職業治療實驗室與復康診所，親眼見證各種創新治療媒介，打破你對「治療室」的刻板印象。
💚不單單只是治療，更是賦能與設計
職業治療師常被形容為「生活的教練」和「環境的設計師」。在 EOTTP 的專題講座和學長姐分享中，你會深刻體會到：這門專業的終極目標不是「修復缺陷」，而是「發掘潛能」——幫助每個人，無論面對什麼限制，都能找到屬於自己的方式，活出理想的樣子。

Summer EOTTP Experience Camp – Redefining Your Vision of “Therapy”😊
Almost the end of the summer holiday, we created a one‑of‑a‑kind exploration journey into Occupational Therapy (OT) for secondary school students 💜– the Elite Occupational Therapist Taster Programme (EOTTP). Here, you didn’t just sit and listen; you stepped into the real world of OT and discovered how this profession places “life” at its core, helping people reclaim meaningful daily activities.💚💚
💚The Core of OT: Making “Life” Itself the Therapy
An Occupational Therapist cares not merely about isolated “movements”, but about how a person functions in their environment every day. From sensory integration for children, to home safety for the elderly, and assistive technology for people with disabilities – the OT perspective always revolves around “what matters to this person” – and then, through creative activities and environmental adaptations, enables them to participate, engage, and enjoy life.
💚Hands‑On, Try‑It‑Yourself Experiential Learning
💚EOTTP is defined by “doing” and “reflection”:
💪🏻Splint‑Making Workshop – Under the step‑by‑step guidance of professor, you learned to craft a finger splint, experiencing how Occupational Therapists use skillful hands and tools to “sculpt” therapeutic aids that balance function and comfort.
💪🏻Simulated Case Analysis – In small groups, you analysed clinically adapted real‑life cases, practising the OT mindset – not just seeing “problems”, but also seeing “possibilities”.
💪🏻Tour of Advanced Teaching Facilities – You visited PolyU’s OT laboratories and rehabilitation clinics, witnessing first‑hand various innovative therapeutic media, and breaking any stereotypes you had about “therapy rooms”.
💚More Than Therapy – Empowerment and Design💚
Occupational Therapists are often described as “life coaches” and “environmental designers”. Through the special lectures and sharing sessions by senior students and alumni at EOTTP, you deeply grasped that the ultimate goal of this profession is not to “fix defects”, but to “unlock potential” – helping every person, regardless of limitations, find their own way to live the life they aspire to.

🔹 Pioneer in Asia · Internationally Accredited
Participants experienced first‑hand the features of PolyU’s OT programme, which was the first in Hong Kong (established in 1978) and is accredited by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).
🔹 Technology Integration · Immersive Learning
In virtual environments, the exoskeleton lab, and driving simulators, students experienced how technology enhances rehabilitation outcomes.
🔹 Client‑Centred · Irreplaceable by AI
Through sharing by professor, students came to appreciate that empathy and companionship are the very heart of occupational therapy.
🔹 Holistic Care · Body and Mind Alike
From paediatric sensory integration to mental health recovery, students learned that OT treats not just the body, but also the mind and spirit.
🔹 Global Vision · Applying Knowledge into Practice
Alumni and senior students shared their experiences of overseas placements, international conferences, community service, and even entrepreneurship, inspiring participants to envision their own future in the profession.
🔹 45 Years of Legacy · Passing the Torch
At the end of the programme, students interacted with professors and alumni, witnessing the positive impact that generations of PolyU occupational therapists have brought to society.
✨ The number of participants💜 is the greatest amongst the past; thank you to every participant💜! This summer, you took your first step towards understanding occupational therapy.
To the future designers of life – if you are curious about the interaction between “people” and “daily living”, and if you hope your future work can truly change others’ lives, this experience camp has already opened a new window for you. There are no standard answers here – only boundless creativity and empathy.
May you carry forward this inspiration and insight. We look forward to seeing more young people join this warm and compassionate profession, and together explore the limitless possibilities of occupational therapy.
