【兩個相連日子，連繫巴、印兩地】

8月14及15日，分別係巴基斯坦及印度嘅獨立日。雖然同為獨立日，但兩地嘅慶祝方式各有特色，不如就介紹下幾個最具代表性嘅節慶傳統啦！

🪁 風箏飛揚：喺印度北部，大家會聚集喺天台放風箏，令整片天空佈滿五顏六色嘅風箏；而喺巴基斯坦部分地區，鄰里之間亦會舉行放風箏活動，一齊感受熱鬧嘅節日氣氛。

🎽 節日造型：巴基斯坦街頭隨處可見綠白兩色嘅服飾配搭，小朋友仲會喺臉上畫上月牙同星星圖案；而印度民眾就會穿上融入國旗三色元素嘅服飾與飾物，以色彩繽紛嘅造型慶祝佳節。

🎺 瓦格赫邊境降旗儀式：每年最矚目嘅場面，莫過於瓦格赫（Wagah）邊境降旗儀式。兩地民衆聚集喺邊境兩側，隔住閘門欣賞整齊劃一嘅軍事儀仗表演同降旗儀式，呢個活動已成為兩國獨立日最標誌性嘅傳統。

非華語人士係機場社區不可或缺嘅一份子。而「先鋒」計劃係專門為有志投身航空業嘅非華語人士而設，提供面試培訓、工作配對同技能訓練，同時鼓勵機場業務夥伴跨文化交流，攜手打造一個共融多元嘅機場社區。🌍✈️

[Two consecutive days, connecting Pakistan and India]

14 and 15 August mark the Independence Days of Pakistan and India, respectively. While both nations celebrate their independence, each celebrates with its own unique traditions. Let’s explore some of the most iconic ways they mark the occasion!

🪁 Kite Flying: In northern India, crowds gather on rooftops to fly kites, filling the sky with vibrant colours. Similarly, neighbourhoods in parts of Pakistan host kite-flying gatherings, bringing the community together in a joyful festive spirit.

🎽 Festive Attire: Across Pakistan, streets come alive in green and white, with children painting crescent moons and stars on their faces. In India, people dress in outfits inspired by the tricolour national flag and accessorise with matching details for a vibrant celebration.

🎺 The Wagah Border Ceremony: The most anticipated event of the year is undoubtedly the Wagah Border Ceremony. Crowds from both nations gather along the border to watch the synchronized military parade and flag-lowering ceremony—a truly iconic shared tradition.

Non-Chinese speakers (NCS) are an integral part of our airport community. The "Pioneer" Programme empowers NCS individuals aspiring to join the aviation industry by offering interview coaching, job matching, and skills training. By encouraging cross-cultural exchange among airport business partners, we are building a more inclusive and diverse community together. 🌍✈️

The Vocational Development Programme Office of the VTC started the Programme for more than 10 years. It aims to provide Non-Chinese Speaking school leavers aged from 14-29 with vocational training courses to better equip them for further articulation or enhance their employability.

Course Title: Foundation Certificate in Electronic & Computer Network Installation

Next Intake: September 2026 Semester (Sept – Dec 2026) is now open for application!

The programme is designed to equip students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills
in computer and network installation. Key learning areas include:

• Computer hardware and equipment

• Basics of electricity concepts (Direct Current (DC), Alternating Current (AC), voltage,
electric current and resistance)

• Computer assembly (including network connection)

• Basic computer testing (including network) and computer robotics

Limited availability. Registration will be closed once FULL.
