Adult scoliosis is a curvature of the spine of ≥ 10 degrees in a person 18 years of age or older. The more severe the curve of adolescent scoliosis is, the more likely it will progress and become adult scoliosis with degeneration.
Schroth therapy is one of the most evidence-based therapy specific for scoliosis. Other than Schroth exercise, pilates, core and limb strengthening exercises can also help improve postural stability, reduce spinal pain and minimise further progression among adults with scoliosis.
Here is the adult case with thoracolumbar curve and Cobb angle (44 degrees) showing within-session improvement of body alignment.
