不少本地家庭都有飼養純種犬貓，由於受基因影響，這些毛孩面對心臟疾病的風險往往高出許多！🛡️

▌先天 vs 後天因素 🔍

⮕ 先天因素：多與品種遺傳、基因突變或胚胎發育異常有關。例如動脈導管未閉（PDA）、心室中隔缺損（VSD ）、主動脈瓣下狹窄（SAS）等心血管結構未正常發育的情況。

⮕ 後天因素：多發生於中老年期，或是由外在寄生蟲、其他系統性疾病所引發，例如退行性二尖瓣膜疾病（MMVD）、繼發性心臟病、寄生蟲與感染等。

▌基因遺傳與品種體質 🧬

🐱貓咪 — 肥厚型心肌病（HCM）
高風險品種：布偶貓、緬因貓、英國短毛貓等

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Hock Gan Heng (DVM,MVS,MS) will soon visit our clinic for a specialized clinical imaging technical exchange with our medical team.

Dr.Hock is a dual-boarded specialist, certified by both the American College of Veterinary Radiology (Dipl. ACVR) and the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (Dipl. ECVDI).

Having previously served as the Section Chief of Diagnostic Imaging at Purdue University, Dr. Hock brings an extensive and invaluable background in small animal ultrasonography and diagnostic imaging.

We look forward to this practical sharing session and peer-to-peer discussion which will help us refine our day-to-day diagnostic workflow, enhance our patient care and further our team's professional development.

吳醫生於 2023 年畢業於國立台灣大學，並於 2024 年正式註冊成為香港執業獸醫。他專攻全科醫療，尤其擅長內科門診與各類一般外科手術。在加入北區動物診所前，他曾於大型 24 小時醫院執業，累積了豐富而多元的個案處理經驗。

吳醫生在香港出生及成長，深明在地毛家庭的需求。為了提供最優質的醫療服務，他積極增進不同領域的醫學知識。除了學術上的持續進修，他亦非常重視與寵物主人的雙向溝通，深信唯有醫患攜手合作，才能為毛孩達致最佳的治療效果。工作之餘，吳醫生熱愛旅遊，亦十分享受陪伴與照顧家中的兩隻愛犬「臭臭」和「香香」。

Dr. Peter Ng

Dr. Peter graduated from National Taiwan University in 2023 and became a registered veterinary surgeon in Hong Kong in 2024. Specializing in General Practice, he has a strong clinical interest in internal medicine consultations as well as routine and soft tissue surgeries. Prior to joining Northern Animal Clinic, he practiced at a major 24-hour veterinary hospital, where he managed a wide range of clinical cases.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr. Peter is deeply attuned to the needs of local pet families. Committed to providing the highest standard of medical care, he constantly expands his veterinary knowledge across various fields through ongoing professional development. Beyond his academic pursuits, he places great emphasis on clear, two-way communication with pet owners, firmly believing that collaborative care yields the best outcomes for his patients. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Peter is a travel enthusiast who loves spending quality time caring for his two beloved furry companions, Chau Chau and Heung Heung.

何醫生擅長以英語、廣東話及普通話溝通，希望能與寵物主人保持良好互動，共同守護毛孩的健康。工作之餘，他也是一位旅遊與甜品愛好者，喜歡在美食中尋找生活動力。

Dr. Nestor graduated from National Taiwan University in 2023. Prior to joining Northern Animal Clinic, he practiced at a major 24-hour veterinary hospital, where he gained valuable clinical experience. 杜醫生於 2018 年畢業於澳洲悉尼大學。取得獸醫學學士學位後，於 2019 年回港正式加入北區動物診所。他專攻全科醫療，在小動物內科及外科領域皆能提供全面的照顧。 當中尤其對牙科、軟組織外科及影像診斷抱有深厚的興趣，並已累積了一定的經驗。為了提供溫和、細緻且具個人化的醫療服務，他非常重視與寵物及其家庭建立長遠的信任關係。

杜醫生精通廣東話及英語，亦能以普通話流利溝通，期盼能與香港多元文化的寵物主人保持良好溝通，共同守護毛孩健康。工作之餘，杜醫生最珍惜回歸家庭的溫馨時光，享受生活中簡單而美好的日常點滴。

身為北區動物診所的創辦人，他扎根上水服務鄰里及毛孩逾 20 年，累積了極為深厚且多元的臨床診療經驗。本著對小動物醫療的熱誠，蕭醫生在繁忙的執業之餘仍堅持精進醫術，其後修畢澳洲莫道克大學的小動物臨床獸醫學碩士（MVS）學位，致力將國際先進的診斷與治療技術注入社區。除了在診所默默守護在地毛孩的健康，他亦擔任中國（香港）獸醫學會會長，積極為社區動物的生存權益與福祉發聲。

二十多年來，蕭醫生始終秉持謙遜與專業的初心，深得毛家庭的信賴。雖然外表專業嚴謹，但蕭醫生非常重視與寵物主人的雙向溝通。他擅長將複雜的醫學理論，用最簡單易懂的方式分析給主人聽，讓各位家長在面對毛孩生病時，能感到無比的安心。在工餘時，蕭醫生的興趣為游泳、旅遊及文學。

Dr. Cornwell graduated from National Taiwan University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and became a registered veterinary surgeon in Hong Kong that same year. Specializing in General Practice, his clinical focus includes small animal dermatology, oncology, echocardiography, abdominal ultrasonography, and soft tissue surgery.

As the founder of Northern Animal Clinic, Dr. Cornwell has been deeply rooted in Sheung Shui for over 20 years, managing an extensive array of clinical cases while building trusted bonds with local pet families. Driven by his passion for veterinary medicine, he consistently prioritizes professional development, subsequently completing a Master of Veterinary Studies (MVS) in Small Animal Practice from Murdoch University (Australia) to integrate advanced diagnostics and treatments into his local practice. Alongside his dedicated service within the clinic, he also serves as the President of the China (Hong Kong) Veterinary Association, actively advocating for the welfare and rights of community animals.

Throughout his two decades of practice, Dr. Cornwell has remained firmly dedicated to his original intent—providing compassionate, thorough, and accessible medical care. 懷著對動物醫療的熱誠，陳醫生當年選擇來到香港挑戰自我。從克服語言與文化障礙開始，到一步步建立起屬於自己的專業醫療團隊，他在香港已默默守護無數小生命超過 20 個年頭。

To integrate leading international medical standards into his daily care, he pursued further training and earned certifications from the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS).

Driven by a deep passion for animal care and veterinary medicine, Dr. Charlie chose to relocate to Hong Kong early in his career to embrace new challenges.
