Did you know tomorrow is the first World Meditation Day?

Thanks to India's lead, the U.N has recently declared 21st December (Winter Solstice) as the World Meditation Day ๐Ÿ˜Š

The intention is to raise Global Wellbeing by connecting diverse humans from around the world and making benefits of Meditation practice more accessible around the world โค๏ธ

This is also to realize Ancient Indian vision of "Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam" (The whole universe is one family! )

I feel motivated by this beautiful vision and I'd like to contribute to it in a small way โœจ๏ธ

So, let us get our little Global community together tomorrow and Meditate together โ˜ธ๏ธ

The topic is ' 3 Steps of Meditation Journey: Awareness, Acceptance and Wisdom'.

I will facilate this beautiful journey tomorrow over zoom 4 pm- 5 pm Indian time, 9:30 pm- 10:30 pm Melbourne time.

I will start with a talk covering the 3 steps, followed by Guided Wisdom Meditation (Vipassana) and finally Questions and Answers ๐Ÿ˜Š

Donโ€™t try to control or force specific outcomes that you may have read or heard about. Allow any experiences to arise naturally, and welcome them with an open mind. This gentle and open attitude creates a fertile ground for deeper insights to grow.

Curiosity is the key to unlocking meditation's full potential. Approach your mind, body, and emotions with the curiosity of a scientist. It was a wonderful trip to Bali- connecting with like-minded people, sharing the powerful technique of Wisdom Meditation (Vipassana) in a gentle and joyful manner ๐Ÿ˜Š

It was a special experience to connect with a local kids shelter and supporting them with a fundraising cultural program ๐Ÿฅฐ

Another very important part of the journey was to connect with nature, allowing creative juices to flow and setting our vision for 2025 โค๏ธ

Vipassana retreat at our home monastery in Thailand โ˜ธ
Wat Sopharam has a very unique approach to teaching Vipassana.
Offering very personalized teachings based on where each person is at in their journey and very practical teachings suitable for daily life โค

In terms of technique, they initially use Mahasi technique of Vipassana which we find more Holistic (including Walking Vipassana meditation technique) and it is easier to practice in daily life.
When a person has a good momentum of awareness, they drop the technique and practice more 'open awareness'.

Finally, they focus more on smaller group teachings and everyone gets one on one guidance during daily meditation interviews ๐Ÿ™

My favorite part: Similar to a few Vipassana monasteries in Myanmar and Thailand, they also have a Vipassana Master who is a very skilful teacher and not famous yet ๐Ÿ˜

So you have a chance to develop a long term student- teacher relationship to keep on receiving guidance and be part of the larger Global community through weekly online teachings, beyond just attending retreats ๐Ÿ™

After trying a few different techniques of Vipassana, such as Goenka and Mahasi, we find this approach most useful ๐Ÿ™‚

This is at a lovely Vipassana monastery, Wat Sopharam, in Chiang mai, Thailand.

They have comfortable private rooms, skilful teachers, lovely nature and everything is donations based โ˜ธ

Daily dharma classes are offered to retreat participants, but open for anyone to join in โค

You can choose anywhere from 5 days to 21 days for your retreat and teachings are customized for each person based on your individual situation.
