A quote by the beautiful TKV Desikachar 🙏

When we think of Yoga on this more metaphysical realm, we can connect deeper to the physical realm.

If you’ve spent any time exploring yoga philosophy, you’ve probably come across the word samadhi. It’s often described as the highest state of consciousness, complete enlightenment, or ultimate bliss. While these descriptions aren’t entirely wrong, they only scratch the surface of what samadhi truly means.

In the classical yoga tradition, samadhi is the eighth and final limb of yoga, representing a profound state of meditative absorption where the usual sense of separation between ourselves and the world begins to dissolve. Yet despite its reputation as yoga’s ultimate goal, samadhi isn’t something practitioners can force or achieve simply by sitting in meditation for long enough. Instead, it naturally arises through years of dedicated practice, ethical living, self-study, and inner stillness.

The Crown Chakra, known in Sanskrit as Sahasrara (meaning “thousand-petaled”), is the seventh and highest chakra in the traditional yogic system. Located at the crown of the head, it represents our connection to something greater than ourselves—whether you understand that as the divine, universal consciousness, nature, or the profound interconnectedness of all life. Unlike the lower chakras, which are associated with our physical needs, emotions, and identity, the Crown Chakra is concerned with transcendence. It invites us to move beyond the ego and experience a sense of unity, wisdom, and deep inner peace. Today we’ll be exploring crown chakra yoga poses to enhance your connection to the divine and achieve deep inner peace in your practice.

If you’ve ever explored yoga philosophy, meditation, breathwork, or the chakra system, you’ve likely encountered the term nadis. These subtle energy channels are considered essential pathways through which prana, or life-force energy, flows throughout the body.

While modern anatomy maps the body’s nerves, blood vessels, and organs, yogic traditions describe a parallel energetic network known as the nadis system. Understanding the nadis can offer deeper insight into how yoga, pranayama, and meditation are believed to influence both physical and spiritual well-being.

So, what is the term nadis in yoga actually referring to, and why are these energetic channels considered so important?

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year and the official beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Occurring around June 20 or 21 each year, it is a time when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, bathing the Earth in its fullest expression of light. In yoga, the Summer Solstice offers a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with our own inner light. It invites us to celebrate growth, cultivate gratitude, and align ourselves with the vibrant energy of the season.

For thousands of years, cultures around the world have celebrated the solstice as a sacred turning point. It has been honored through festivals, ceremonies, feasts, and rituals that recognize the abundance of the season and humanity’s connection to the natural world. A Summer Solstice yoga flow can help you embody these themes through movement, breath, and mindful awareness. Whether you practice at sunrise, outdoors in nature, or in your favorite yoga space, this sequence offers a way to honor the longest day of the year and welcome the season ahead.

There is a moment in every practice where the outside world falls completely away. The noise quiets. The to-do list disappears. And for a few breaths, you are simply here.

This is what yoga gives you. Not just on the mat, but as a way of moving through your whole life.

If you have ever felt called to share that experience with others, our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Bali and Costa Rica is where that journey begins. Links and upcoming dates are in our bio.

Meditation and mindfulness continue to grow rapidly worldwide, creating a wide range of opportunities for both personal development and professional application. Importantly, you do not need to be a full-time meditation teacher to benefit from meditation teacher training. However, many students pursue training to deepen their personal practice or to integrate mindfulness into professions such as education, healthcare, therapy, leadership, business, or yoga teaching.
