Don’t pull away. It makes it worse.

Your instinct when someone grabs your hair from the front? Yank backwards. Pull away as hard as you can.

And it’s the exact thing that gives them more control; and hurts you more.

Here’s why: when you pull back, you’re fighting the strongest part of their grip, you expose your throat, and you lose your balance. Now you’re off-centre AND in pain.

So here’s what actually works 👇

Instead of pulling away, you move IN. You trap their hand against your head so they can’t rip, you stay connected to control them more and you take away their leverage. THEN you strike. Watch how I break it down 🥋

This is the stuff I wish every mum knew because the difference between freezing and reacting isn’t strength. It’s knowing one move before you ever need it.

Rear choke defence - save this!

A rear choke is one of the most common attacks women face - and one of the most survivable IF you know what to do in the first 3 seconds.

👊🏻Tuck your chin HARD into the crook of his elbow (protects your airway, buys you seconds).
👊🏻Strike whatever you can hard and fast
👊🏻Drop your weight low and wide - break his base, keep balance
👊🏻Step foot behind his leg to access soft targets
👊🏻Strike soft targets: eyes, throat, groin
👊🏻And ladies… don’t be shy of a fish hook 🪝

Yep. Fingers in the mouth, hook the cheek, rip. It’s brutal, it’s effective, and in a life-or-death moment it can be the thing that gets you home to your kids.
