The energy created over the last 3 weeks honestly feels impossible to put into words. I feel so humbled, grateful, and full of love after this experience.
When I first arrived I was emotional, nervous, and honestly a bit “too cool.” I remember feeling awkward during the opening ceremony and thinking there was no way I would ever fully let go the way I had seen other people do in photos and videos. I was very wrong. The way this course is laid out, it becomes almost impossible not to open up, let go, and fully be yourself.
After only a few days, I started reconnecting with parts of myself I didn’t even realize I had lost. There was so much emotional release, growth, healing, and joy throughout this journey. The daily silence from 6am until 10am, along with the digital detox and thoughtful journal prompts, helped slow my busy mind down in such a beautiful way. I felt more present, balanced, calm, and connected to myself than I have in a very long time.
Our days were full from 6am until 6:30pm, and our group of 21 students slowly became a family. We came from all corners of the world and somehow built such deep connections through shared vulnerability, laughter, movement, ceremonies, and learning together.
The teaching itself was incredible. Neha, Achuthan, Samten, and Vivek were all so amazing and each brought such a different energy and perspective that made the entire experience feel so well rounded. The kindness, compassion, patience, and support from all of the teachers was truly next level. You could feel how deeply they cared about every single student and our individual journeys.
Teaching small sections of class and sharing practices like Yoga Nidra helped me grow so much in confidence. The feedback and encouragement I received meant so much to me and reminded me how healing these practices really are.
The staff at Amertham also deserve an award! Every day I was greeted with a smile and fun music (when we weren’t in silence) in the dining room.
At closing ceremony we had to choose one word to describe the experience and of course I chose three: magical, growth, and healing. Healing in ways I didn’t even know I needed.
I left feeling overwhelmed with gratitude and love, but most importantly I left feeling dedicated to myself again and to a practice that I know will stay with me forever. ✨
I hope this helps describe all the feels, for anyone questioning whether or not they should choose this as their yoga school.
