Founder, Laci Christiaen, had a simple desire – to lend a helping hand to those who struggle to enjoy the simplest of comforts and even the basic necessities of life. Living in the privileged societies that so many of us do, it’s easy to take things for granted – a clean and comfortable bed, a water-tight roof, hot showers, endless supplies of food and clean drinking water, and feeling loved by so
mebody. The various forms of inequality in the world have always troubled Laci. Her hope was that by giving what little she could, she could help touch lives in small ways while inspiring others to do the same, especially our young people, who so often lack the perspective they need when it comes to being kind to others, and grateful for what they have. Heart Of Gold Project aims to continually achieve the following 3 objectives:
1. To help and instill hope into young people who have been orphaned, neglected and come from backgrounds of poverty. Through fundraising activities we are able to provide donations of time, services and resources, which will help provide comfort, security, safety, education, and a more enjoyable childhood to children in various countries throughout the world.
2. To remind everyone to be kind and generous to others, and grateful for the simple things we often take for granted.
3. To provide positive psychology based educational sessions to privileged young people with the goal of helping to foster awareness, empathy, gratitude and generosity in the next generation of adults and leaders.
