I recently came across the “Rubber Ball and Glass Ball” theory and it honestly shifted something in me.

Every day we’re juggling so much.
Work. The house. Messages. Commitments. Expectations. Family.

It can feel relentless.

But here’s the perspective that stopped me in my tracks, not every ball we’re holding is the same.

Some are rubber.

They can drop.
The missed workout.
The unanswered email.
The laundry that waits.
The plans you reschedule.

They bounce. They recover. They’re forgiving.

But some are glass.

And those are sacred.

The bedtime chats.
The slow mornings.
The laughter around the dinner table.
The quiet moments with your partner.
The ordinary days that don’t look big at the time, but one day you realise they were everything.

Glass doesn’t bounce.
It breaks.

I’m learning that success isn’t about keeping every ball in the air perfectly.

It’s about knowing which ones you can let fall… and which ones you need to protect.

Because in the end, it won’t be the perfectly managed schedule that defines our life.

It’ll be the moments we chose to guard.

Guard the glass.
Let the rubber bounce 🤍

We all flitter from both sides, depending on what is going on in our lives, it’s impossible to be positive and happy all the time, it’s just not realistic, some people sadly live in a permanent negative state, life has done that to them, but we have a choice… we all have choices to reflect on things in a positive or negative light, there will be positive and negative to everything we do in life… it’s your choice which way you chose process it ❤️.

To each and everyone of you reading this… I wish you all the sincerest and Happiest New Year for 2026…. I know for so many, this year gone has been a very uphill struggle, it has been a year of tremendous pain and grief for so many, pain that will follow you into this New Year, there will be times that you feel “will my life ever feel good? Or will I ever feel like I used to”? The truth is “No, you won’t” however, what you will feel is stronger and a new kind of happiness will appear…. The truth is life never stays the same, either do we, we have to adapt and change to survive, old coping mechanisms no longer service us, time to say goodbye to some of those, for me that is “Mother Thereasa”🥴 she is the part of me that feels the need to safe the world 😭the truth is.., I can’t and she gets very tired and neglected, so Mother Theresa, I am going to try detach from you, you don’t belong to me anymore, truth is… I don’t need you. This year I intend to keep building on myself physically, mentally and spiritually…

I am grateful to 2025 for so many things, continued good health of my children and family, my greatest achievement in life, I started my dream job with stability and consistency, huge hurdles with the technology aspect, but I’m getting there, I am grateful for the first time in my life I have improved my time keeping dramatically (people who know me will laugh at that 🤣) I did! Promise. I also shed nearly 9 stone of body weight! A whole person! I have never felt so good in myself since my early 20’s, this has been a slow and difficult road, one I don’t speak publicly about, I am still covering myself up with big baggy clothes, habits of a lifetime don’t fade to easy, that’s work in progress.

What I have learned mostly this year is …. The Power of Compassion… particularly compassion for Self and how healing it is, speak to yourself with such kindness and compassion, it is so simple in theory but omg does it change everything, life is hard enough without us giving off to ourselves and being hard on ourselves, gets us nowhere 🫶

So, wherever you are in the world or in your life right now, let me wish you so much Compassion and Love for 2026 🩷

How many people, parents, children can identify with this beautiful poem? It hits so profoundly, it’s almost like you have to persuade educators and professionals to believe your reality, it’s so difficult to convert this to people who don’t understand how so many children that slip between…,the mask is so intact until it falls off, sometimes in school, work places but more often than not it is at home, in your safety… it weeps through so many things.

I just wish more people understood that so many children and adults are battling so much, the noise, the smell, the lights, the heat, the social interaction with others, I have worked with clients that have 4 or 5 possible conversation topics pre planned and rehearsed in their head, because they simply find small talk exhausting…. How exhausting it must be to have all these conversations pre planned and stressed over… even for the transaction with the shop keeper in the local shop.

Please be kind, you have no idea what battles people are internalising, f you see the little boy or girl having a tantrum or screaming in a supermarket, please don’t judge, you have no idea what huge emotions are underneath for that little person.

Michelle ❤️
