We don’t arrive at today as a blank page 📃

Every stage of life, from our earliest experiences through childhood, adolescence and adulthood, can shape the way we see ourselves, other people and the world around us.

Sometimes understanding that story can help us make sense of the patterns we carry today 🌌

Leaving Cert results can bring a lot of pressure, not just on the day itself, but in the months leading up to it.

Questions about results, college, work and what comes next can quickly become overwhelming 🤐

If the stress is becoming difficult to manage, talking it through can help you find ways to cope and feel a little more grounded 🌸

Sometimes, what looks like a simple object can represent something much deeper.

A plane may not be about travel. An ambulance may represent a fear of illness. A butterfly may symbolise the person someone wants to become. 🦋

In therapy, these small symbols can help open up conversations, explore emotions and understand what may be holding someone back.

My role is to support each person in making sense of those feelings and help them move towards the life they want for themselves.

Sometimes the distance between two people doesn’t happen all at once.

It can build slowly through small hurts, misunderstandings and things left unresolved, until the connection that once felt easy becomes harder to reach 🧊

📍Couples therapy can help identify those patterns, make space for honest conversation and begin taking that wall down, one brick at a time.

🪄 You don’t have to wait until things reach crisis point to ask for support.

Ongoing stress, constant overthinking, relationship difficulties or worrying about someone you love can all be signs that it may help to talk things through.

Therapy can offer a safe space to understand what’s going on and find a way forward 🌸

August is National Wellness Month 🌿

A gentle reminder that looking after your mental and emotional wellbeing is just as important as looking after your physical health.

Taking time to rest, setting healthy boundaries, managing stress and reaching out for support when you need it can all be part of looking after yourself.

This month, make your wellbeing a priority. 💜

School can be a difficult experience when you feel misunderstood or don’t yet understand why certain things seem harder for you than they do for others.

Counsellor Paddy Gately reflects on receiving a dyslexia diagnosis later in life, the isolation and shame he once felt, and how therapy helped him realise that dyslexia is simply one part of who he is.

Needing extra support is nothing to be ashamed of.
