This week we are celebrating International Assistance Dogs week and all the important work that they do for the visually and hearing impaired, as well as supporting children with Autism by celebrating our own Specs Pets and how much they mean to us!

Assistance Dogs are more than a mobility aid, they provide constant support by helping navigate the world, providing confidence and connection. We will have the ambassador dogs from the Midlands Branch of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind with us in store Golden Island Shopping Centre on Thursday 6th August so come down and see us and meet these amazing dogs!

So our first pet is Shep!

Specsavers Athlone, a Platinum Member of our Club Rossie Business Members Program in 2026, are supporting a number of aspects of Roscommon GAA including sponsorship of the kitvan for our Senior Hurling team.

Specsavers Athlone is independently and locally owned. From its base in Golden Island, Athlone it provides Optical and Audiology services in the region with a strong customer base in County Roscommon.
