HOW TO SUPPORT SATTVA IN DAILY LIFE.

Sattva is supported not by one thing, but by the way we live - what we eat, how we move, what we give our attention to, and the environment we create around us.

Choose fresh, simple and nourishing foods. Eat mindfully and with moderation.

Yoga, walking and gentle exercise can help maintain energy, balance and ease in the body.
Pranayama, meditation and moments of quiet help settle the mind.

Nature, fresh air, natural light, clean and uncluttered space can support a calm and balanced state.

What we watch, read and listen to also affects our state. Less negativity, conflict and unnecessary noise creates more space for clarity.

Speak truthfully and kindly, avoid words that cause harm. Kindness, compassion and ahimsa are an important part of yogic living.

Do what needs to be done with care and sincerity, without becoming overly attached to the outcome.

Supporting Sattva means creating, day by day, more space for clarity, awareness, balance and inner stillness.

In yoga philosophy, the entire world and our minds are made up of three energies called gunas, which dictate our inner state:

πŸ’€ Tamas (Inertia) - laziness, apathy, procrastination, and brain fog.

⚑ Rajas (Passion) - fire, movement, and ambition. In excess, it turns into stress, anxiety, and hustle.

✨ Sattva (Goodness) - the highest state of mind: absolute balance, clarity, focus, serenity, and inner joy. Sattva has no negative side, it is pure harmony.

While we cannot completely eliminate the other two energies, we can learn to manage them.

The ultimate goal is to notice which energy dominates in the present moment, allowing us to consciously overcome laziness (Tamas), reduce stress (Rajas), and bring ourselves back to a state of (Sattva), the ultimate space of peace and awareness.

Regular yoga practice is exactly what helps us master this control, quiet the mind, and restore inner balance. 🧘🀍
