Our aim is to be there for you day or night to carry out the funeral in a dignified and professional manner. We are there to help during the initial period of grief and ensure that the funeral becomes an occasion which the family can look back on, with respect and move on with hope for the future. A death in the family can be a difficult time for everybody.

Mary Byrne, Minch Terrace, Athy, Co. Kildare and formerly of Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland passed away peacefully on Wednesday 21st October, 2026 in Cloverlodge Nursing Home, Athy, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Leo. Deeply regretted by her daughters Karen and Lorna, grandchildren Sarah, Odhran and Kieran, great grandchildren Hannah, Lily and Tom, son-in-law Paul, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Mary will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Thursday 22nd October 5pm until the conclusion of prayers at 7pm. Removal from Thompson’s Funeral Home on Friday morning 23rd October at 10.45am to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy, Co. Kildare for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery.

Molly Kavanagh (née Redmond), Bert, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away peacefully at home after a short illness on Sunday 18th October, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by sisters Margaret and Kathleen and brother Joseph. Deeply regretted by her loving husband John, sons and daughter Raymond, Padraig, Colm and Rosemary, grandchildren William, Ray, Roísin, Niall, Shane, Chloe, Lauren, Keelin, Aideen, Séan, Ellen, Annabel, Alex and John, son and daughters-in-law Mary, Karen, Kara, son-in-law Reggie, brother Jimmy and her sister Lucy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews nieces, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Molly will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Monday 19th October 5pm until the conclusion of prayers at 7pm. Removal from her home on Tuesday morning to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy, Co. Kildare for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery.

William (Billy) (Dragon) Mullen, Páirc Bhríde, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away peacefully on Friday 16th October, 2026 surrounded by his loving family in St. Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Mary Josephine and nephew Colin. Billy will be sadly missed by his siblings John, Mary, Jimmy and Brigid, sister-in-law Kathleen, brothers-in-law Jim and Graham, nieces Nicola, Tess, Caroline, Jenny and Annie, grand nephews and grand nieces, relatives and friends.

May he Rest in Peace.

Billy will repose in Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Sunday 18th October from 3pm until 5pm. A celebration of life service will be held for Billy in Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Monday morning 19th October at 11am, followed by burial in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery, Athy.

Geraldine (Ger) McCann, (nee Chambers), Malone Place, Athy, Co. Kildare, passed away peacefully on Sunday 27th September, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary (Ciss), brothers Harry, Willie, Declan, Robert and Donal. Sadly, missed by her loving husband Donal and her son Richard (Richie), brothers and sisters Kathleen, Mary, Josie, David, Kenneth, Brendan, Ashling, Jacinta and Damien, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Geraldine will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mount Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Monday 28th September from 4pm until removal at 6.15pm to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy, Co. Kildare for reception prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday 29th September, 2026 at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s (New) Cemetery.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Cecilia Mortlock (née Moore), at her home in Proffit Avenue, Court House Green, Coventry and formerly of Mullaghmast, Co. Kildare. Beloved wife of the late Colin and cherished mother of Gary, Linda and Colin. Predeceased by her son Kevin. Sadly, missed by her grandchildren, brothers and sister nieces and nephews.

Reception into The Holy Trinity Church, Moone, Co. Kildare, (Eircode: R14 Y898) on Friday 18th September for Requiem Mass at 11 am, which can be viewed at the link provided below. Internment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Josie Foley, (née Murphy), Shamrock Drive, Athy, Co. Kildare and formerly Ballykelly, Monasterevin, passed away peacefully on Thursday 10th September in the care of the staff of St. Bridget’s Hospice, The Curragh surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by her parents Denis and Josephine Murphy.

Josie will be sadly missed by her loving husband Martin, daughter and sons Sharon, Adrian and Kieran, grandchildren Aoife, Jack and Ryan, daughter-in-law Doireann, brothers and sisters Kay, Mary, Peter and Denis, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Commander Jimmy Byrne, Kilberry, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away peacefully on 5th September 2026 in the Oncology Ward, St. James Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his parents James (Jim) and Winn. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mottie, sons and daughters Mary, Linda, James and Darren, grandchildren Heidi, Winnie and Daisie, great granddaughter Darcie, daughter-in-law Emma, Darren’s partner Coralie, brothers and sisters Paddy, Mary, George, Catherine and John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, relatives, extended family, friends and his many colleagues in Civil Defence, Darkness into Light, O.N.E., Kilberry Community, Athy Town Promoters and Athy Tidy Towns.

Predeceased by her husband Jim, parents Jack and Eileen, sister Phyllis. She will be sadly missed by her sister Ger O’Neill, niece Eimear, nephews Fergal and Shane, relatives, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Andy. Sadly missed by her children David, Terry, Vivienne (Minogue), Helen (O’Sullivan), Marie (O’Donnell), Andy, her sister Joan Walsh, her sons and daughter’s in-law, Esther, Vera, Seamus, Jerome, Liam, and Helena, her sister’s in-law Peggy, Dolores, and Agnes, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Tommy Donovan known to all as “Docky” late of 8 St. Dominics Park, Athy, passed away suddenly on 15th February, 2026 at his home in Colchester. Predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Mel). He will be sadly missed by his step children Jeanette, Michel and Maxine, grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, relatives, extended family and friends.

Interment of Tommy's ashes will take place in Nicholastown Cemetery, on
