The death has occurred of Alan McElwaine, Drogheda, Co. Louth and formerly Bailieborough, Co Cavan died on the 18th July 2026 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda. Predeceased by his sister Lorna and brother Ken.

Alan will be sadly missed by his loving family, beloved husband to Verna, much loved Dad to Vivien, Alma and Karen, Father-in law to Gary, Donal and Alan, Grandfather to Daniel (Rachel), Rachel, Dylan, Oisin, Ryan, Eoin, Liam and Conor, sister Joyce, brother-in-law Donald, sister-in-law Susan, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Safe In The Arms of Jesus.

Alan will repose in his daughter Vivien’s house (A92 F7H2) on Wednesday 22nd from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Thursday 23rd to Trinity Presbyterian Church, Bailiebourgh, Co Cavan (A82 HT62) for 12 o'clock Service and burial afterwards in Urcher graveyard. House private at all other times.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Drogheda Animal Rescue.

The death has occurred of Nora Jane Wayden (née Gaffney), Cliffin, Killinkere, Co. Cavan and Florida, USA.

Nora Jane passed away peacefully in Florida on 9th July 2026.

Predeceased by her husband James, son James, parents Joe and Annie, and sisters Philis, Maeve and Josephine.

Deeply regretted by her daughter Michelle, grandchildren Samantha, James and Thomas, sisters Helen, Maureen, Annie, Eva and Rosaleen, brothers J.J., Tony, Eamonn, Stephen and Paul, extended family and friends.

May She Rest in Eternal Peace.

A Memorial Mass will take place in St. Ultan’s Church, Killinkere, on Sunday, 26th July, at 10.00am.

The death has occurred of Frank (Franky) Reel, Cloverhill, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan and formerly of Artane, Dublin 5, 16th July 2026. Franky passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents John and Rose, daughter Deborah and brother Martin.

Deeply regretted by his adored wife Marie, the love of his life, sons Philip (Tracy) and David (Claire), daughter Katie (Jess), adored grandchildren Aaron, Hannah, Daniel, Bradley and Ruby, extended family, neighbours and friends.

A Kind and Gentle Soul, Well Lived and Loved.

Reposing at his residence on Friday, 17th July, from 4pm to 8pm.

Removal on Saturday morning at 10.45am to arrive at St. Anne's Church, Bailieborough (A82 VY38), for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12 RF78).

No flowers, please.

Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland or Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care via the donation links, any family member or the funeral director.

The death has occurred of Theresa Cullen, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan and formerly of Baldoyle, Co. Dublin, 10th July 2026. Theresa passed away peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, husband Richard, son George and granddaughter Paige.

Deeply regretted by her companion Jimmy, daughters Ann Marie (Michael) and Amanda, son Andrew, daughter-in-law Debbie, son-in-law Eoin, grandchildren Dylan, Jack, James, Madison, Chloe and Zayne, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and wider family circle.

Predeceased by her parents John and Eileen, brothers Hughie and Paddy, baby brother John Joseph and sister Mary.

The death has occurred of Fr. Anthony Fagan, Curates House, Virginia Road, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, 26th May 2026. Fr. Anthony passed away peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Liam and Greta.

Deeply regretted by his sisters Rita Clarke and Maura, brother-in-law John, nephews Sean and Damien, nieces-in-law Alison and Anne, grand-nephew Thomas, Bishop Martin Hayes, Bishop Emeritus Leo O’Reilly, fellow priests and his wide circle of family and friends.

Sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Frances, sons and daughters Adrienne (Paddy), Eymard (Paul), J.P.
