The referral letter is usually the easy part. Then the waiting starts, and waiting for a scan is a special kind of stress in Ireland

We built our Rapid Access Scan Centre in Ballincollig to close that gap. Ultrasound appointments are usually available within one week, with results back to your GP within 72 hours. Ultrasound scans are €169 (second scan same day half price), echocardiograms €235 including the cardiologist's report, and if you don't have a referral yet, our own GP can assess and refer you in one visit.

"We'll refer you for a scan" should be the end of a patient's worry, not the start of a long wait.

For too many people in Ireland, the gap between referral and scan runs to months. At Link Healthcare's Rapid Access Scan Centre in Ballincollig, that gap is usually one week, with reports returned to the referring GP within 72 hours. Ultrasound €169, echocardiography €235 including cardiologist's report.

GPs and primary care teams can refer via Healthlink (search Link Healthcare Ltd), Socrates, Healthmail, or direct letter. Patients without a referral can be assessed by our in-house GP in a single visit.

Getting sick never checks your calendar first. It waits until the surgery is closed, the weekend hits, or you simply can't get an appointment.

That's what we're here for. Our Out of Hours GP in Ballincollig now runs two ways: walk in or book at the clinic in the evenings and at weekends, or see a GP online by video or phone, every day, morning and evening.

Same day either way. Prescriptions, sick notes, referrals and urgent care, all sorted in one visit.

No long wait, no sitting it out until Monday.
