Studio Eleven are hosting Vicky Fox’s training for supporting cancer patients through yoga.
Vicky has worked with clients with cancer for many years and updates her information constantly keeping her trainees regularly updated. She supplies an insightful informative manual and is the author of two books on cancer and the benifits of yoga to support people living with cancer or undergoing treatment.
Her training will inform the trainee of the multiple and complex symptoms of different cancers and the treatment offered for them.
This training is open to all qualified, accredited yoga teachers, and therapists and healthcare professionals with a committed yoga practice. Prior to the course all participants will be asked to read an account of cancer from a supplied reading list, then reflect on and answer five questions.
We will explore asana that support the body and mind through the subtle system of the Koshas and the eight limbs of the yoga sutras. While also exploring the philosophy of Buddhist meditation through the book Making Friends with Death – A Buddhist Guide to Encountering Mortality by Judith L Lief, and completing an assignment on it.
