💜World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 💜

This morning, our lovely ladies enjoyed some pampering nail care, with beautiful purple nails to mark the occasion! 💅💜

This afternoon, our program continued with an important discussion on raising awareness of elder abuse. We heard a personal experience shared by one of our residents, followed by wonderful singing performances, fun games, and delicious purple buns and smoothies for everyone to enjoy! 🎶🎲🍓

Together, we stand for respect, safety, and dignity for all older people. 💜

Our residents enjoyed the beautiful sunshine today as part of our group activity. We took time to reminisce and share special memories, while many shared their favorite songs and sang along together 🎤🎶. To keep cool and refreshed on this warm day, everyone enjoyed delicious ice cream and fresh fruit juice 🍦🍹.

We are absolutely delighted to share that our very own resident, Phyllis O'Kelly, was honoured at a special Mayoral Reception held on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, in the Council Chamber, Dooradoyle, Limerick.

Phyllis received this recognition in appreciation of her outstanding contribution and dedication over many decades for the promotion of the Irish language and Irish culture in our daily lives, within schools and Naíonraí, and for her wonderful leadership and tireless work as part of Conradh na Gaeilge, Craobh Chathair Luimnigh, and across the whole of Limerick.

We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the very talented trad music group from Scoil Pól, Kilfinane last week 🎶

Their lively tunes and beautiful playing filled our home with joy, laughter, and plenty of toe-tapping moments. Both our residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the performance! With smiles all around and a wonderful atmosphere throughout 🎻

A huge thank you to the amazing students and staff for bringing such energy, warmth, and talent to our home 💛👏 It was really a special and memorable morning for everyone! 🌟
