When outdoors this summer, keep an eye out for ticks. These are small brown bugs whose bite can cause Lyme disease.

If you find a tick on yourself, remove it, and contact your GP if you develop a circular red rash or a fever.

We finally got a good summer and we're all enjoying leaving the house without a coat. But, we forget that the sun can be dangerous. Take care of your skin.

This heatwave may be coming to an end (for now!), but sun safety is still important.

Even on cooler or cloudy days, UV rays can be strong enough to damage your skin. If you're spending time outdoors, always remember to:

β˜€οΈ Slip on clothing that covers your skin.
🧴 Slop on broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+ for adults, SPF 50+ for children) and reapply regularly.
🧒 Slap on a wide-brimmed hat.
😎 Seek shade, especially between 11am and 3pm.
πŸ•ΆοΈ Slide on sunglasses with UV protection.

A little sun protection goes a long way.
