❄️ The cold weather snap has been very evident this week. We issued a text message to all attending patients on Monday morning to take caution and make time if travelling, and we would like to emphasise this again as tomorrow morning may present with more ice than previous morning after a few days of thaw and freeze, especially caution on footpaths and by-roads.
Better to arrive late than injured 🤕

Our heartfelt condolences to our Nurse Filipa and her family on the loss of her beautiful son, André. He was a remarkable child, and his presence will be felt in this community as long as we are here. Our hearts go out to Filipa, César and Tomás.

From “Syllogisms” by the Portuguese poet Ana Luísa Amaral:

“No fim do jogo todo,
disse-me que amanhã
queria estar comigo para a vida inteira”

“When the game was over,
She said that tomorrow
she wanted to be with me all her life”.

Rest in peace dear child.

We are back today & until Friday 👍

Current advice is that children with runny nose, temp and sore throat should stay at home from school.

Seek review of child if very unwell- for example poor form/distress, poor intake of fluids.

Strep A (Group A streptococcus) is a common bacteria that is sometimes found in the throat or on the skin. Strep A is spread by close contact.

Strep A infections cause symptoms such as:
➡️sore throat
➡️fever
➡️chills
