Obituary - 9th October 2026

The death has occurred of Michael Connelly, Moore, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon – 8th October 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and devoted partner Maureen and her son Michael (Eileen).

Predeceased by his wife Nancy (nee McGrath), parents Michael and Mae, brother John, his infant grandchild, brothers and sisters-in-law Patrick, Seamus, Vincent, Bridie, Margaret, Peter and Tom.

Michael will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Ann Marie (Noel Griffin) and Michelle (Edwin Shanagher), brother Frank, sisters Mary (Buckley), Ann (O’Sullivan), Gertie (Coleman), Patricia (Lynch) and Eithne (Hurley), grandchildren Conor and Eimear, partner Maureen (Harte) and her family Michael (Eileen), Maureen (Shane), Eileen (Sean), Anne, Christina, and Jimmy and their families, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Michael will repose at Gaynor’s Funeral Home, Castlerea from 5pm – 7pm on Sunday. Funeral will arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am on Monday. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Renée Webb (née McManus), Knockroe, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon - 5th October 2026, peacefully at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe. She is predeceased by her husband Billy, son Ciaran and baby granddaughter Anna. Renée will be sadly missed by her children Brendan, Corinna, Declan and Damien, sisters Ursula, Anita and Jeanne, grandchildren Mark, Ciaran, Cillian, Amy, Emily and Jack, son-in-law Mark, daughter-in-law Aisling, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Raymond (Ray) Silke, Knockroe, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and formerly of London, England - 29th September 2026, peacefully in his sleep in the compassionate care of the staff at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe. Predeceased by his parents Brendan and Mary and his brother Mícheál. Beloved brother of Maurice Silke (Castlebar) and Carmel (Steiner, Vancouver). Ray will be sadly missed by his brother, sister, sister-in-law Marion, niece Carmel Cloherty, nephews Brendan and Martin Silke, Marcus and Darren Steiner, his extended family and excellent neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Mary Rogers, St. Patrick’s Street, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon - 18th September 2026, peacefully in the loving and wonderful care of Fearna Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her infant son Alan, her grandsons Conor and Ethan, her parents Mary and Patrick, brother Pat, sister Eileen and niece Ruth.

Mary will be forever missed by her children, Padraic, David, Aisling and Amy, her sons-in-law Jim and Joe, daughters-in-law Elizabeth and Stephanie, her 12 grandchildren, siblings Mick (Tulsk), Barney (Meath), Pauline (Ballinasloe), and Geraldine (Fairymount), her aunt Mary Dolan (Castleruby), extended family, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Christina (Chris) O'Reilly, Main Street, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. Chris passed away peacefully on 14th September 2026 in the wonderful care of the staff at the Roscommon Hospice after a long illness born with dignity.

Predeceased by her parents Martin and Gretta and her infant brother Michael Brendan. Chris will be sadly missed by her sister Mary, brothers Noel and Tony, aunt Anne, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
