We are deeply thankful to everyone who helped in the home, sent Mass cards, called to the house, sent messages, telephoned, attended the funeral home and Funeral Mass, sent flowers, and offered words of sympathy and kindness. Every gesture of support, no matter how small, brought us comfort and strength.

Our heartfelt thanks to the emergency services, and especially to Garda Dean Fahy and his colleagues, for their compassion, kindness and professionalism. We are deeply grateful to the Ballinagh community for the touching guard of honour as we brought Annmarie home.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the local businesses and members of the community who kindly brought food and expressed their sympathies. A very special word of thanks to Christina at the Pikers Lodge, Gowna, for her kindness, care and support throughout, and for providing the lovely meal after the funeral service.

Tommy Reilly (Thomas)
Ard na Laoi, Cavan Town
Died 3rd May 2026

Tommy’s wife Aimee and family wish to thank the many people who sympathised with us and helped in so many ways following Tommy’s untimely death.

Sincere thanks to those first on the scene, the emergency services and the Gardaí who attended at the scene of the accident. We appreciate so much all the support from our families, extended families, neighbours and friends.

We are grateful to all who were present at the scene of the accident, those who attended Mass in Drumavaddy the following evening, all who called to our homes in Ard na Laoi and Ardlougher, the many people who attended the reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, those who were present in the Cathedral for the Funeral Mass and those in the graveyard for the burial.

Sincere appreciation to Declan Finnegan and Bernard McPhillips, Finnegan Funeral Directors, for their kindness, professionalism and support throughout.

Thank you to all who sent sympathy cards, Mass cards, online condolences, text messages, phone calls and flowers. We are particularly grateful to all who travelled long distances to be with us and share in our grief.

Special thanks to Fr. Kevin Fay, Fr. Jason Murphy, Fr. Donal Kilduff, Fr. Brian McElhinney and Fr. Gerard Cassidy for concelebrating Tommy’s Funeral Mass, and for their presence and prayers with us throughout this difficult time.

To all who provided the beautiful and consoling singing and music at Tommy’s Funeral Mass, the Sacristan and Stewards in the Cathedral, all those who formed guards of honour and those who stood along the various routes between Lakelands Funeral Home, Ard na Laoi, the Cathedral and Drumavaddy, a huge thank you.

To everyone involved in traffic management and car parking at all venues, your work was invaluable. Thanks to the many kind and generous people who brought food to our homes, and all involved in catering in Tommy and Aimee’s home. We very much appreciate those who provided the catering in the Community Centre after the burial and the Meadow View for the lovely meal.

Our appreciation to the gravediggers for preparing Tommy’s final resting place. A very special thank you to Tommy’s many work colleagues, past and present, to his mates and friends from his schooldays and beyond, and in particular those who took turns to carry his coffin. Your respect for Tommy and your dignity throughout will stay with us.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Tommy’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 6th June at 8.00pm in St. Matthew’s Church, Drumavaddy.
