Peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Retired member of An Garda Siochana. Predeceased by his mother Annie (O’Malley), father Vincey and infant sister Anne. Des will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Julia; children Pól (Fiona), Louise (John), Yvonne (Fearghall) and Angie (Corinne). Des will be sadly missed by his adoring grandchildren, Bláthnaid, Néamh, Lorcán, Dara-Trása, Étain, Ava, Senan, Cillian, Clodagh agus Sadie; his sisters Mary (Dublin) and Joan (Kent); brothers Frank (Kent) and Vin (Ballina); his many nieces, nephews in-laws and a wide circle of family, friends, Garda comrades and neighbours.

May Des rest in eternal peace.

Des will be reposing at his home on Sunday 30th August and Monday 31st August from 12pm to 10pm. Funeral from there on Tuesday 1st September going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Letterkenny for requiem mass at 11am followed by interment in Conwal Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed on Church of the Irish Martyrs YouTube channel.

First Anniversary

In loving memory of Bridie Porter, 279 Skeog Cottages, Bridgend who died on 22nd July 2025.

Thank you to everyone who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers over the past year. She is loved beyond words and missed every day.

We would love for you to join us as we remember our wonderful Mum on her first anniversary. Mass will be celebrated in St Aengus Church, Burt on Saturday 25 July at 6.30 pm.

Untimely and tragically as a result of a road traffic accident. Predeceased by his auntie Clare (Feb 2016). Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Demelza & lan, sister's Hayley, Amy & brother Odhran, grandparents Edward & Imelda, Tom & Noreen (Kildare), aunts, uncles, cousins & extended family members in both Kildare and Donegal. Fondly remembered by his many friends, classmates & good neighbours.

Funeral from there on Wednesday morning 24th June, going to St. Colmcille’s Church, Glendowan for mass of the Angels at 11am followed by interment in Templedouglas Cemetery.
