Esker Rí Nursing Home

Esker Rí Nursing Home Home from home stay Located just outside Clara in Co. Offaly, Esker Rí is a bright, modern, purpose-built facility with 143 beds.

We offer long‑term, respite, convalescent, dementia and palliative care. Our home features ensuite bedrooms, multiple lounge and dining spaces, sheltered gardens, and a chapel. On-site physiotherapy, dietitian support, laundry services, and Wi‑Fi ensure residents are cared for and comfortable. Our daily activities—from gentle exercise and pet therapy to arts & crafts, music and outings—foster well-being and social connection. We also support spiritual needs through multi‑denominational services. At Esker Rí, we focus on compassionate, personalised care in a welcoming, home-like setting.

🌿☕ Tea in the Garden Thursday ☕🌿

As part of this year’s Nursing Home Week theme, Connecting with Nature, today was all about enjoying the simple pleasures of the great outdoors. 💚

Our residents enjoyed a lovely cup of tea together in the garden, surrounded by beautiful flowers, fresh air and the peaceful sights and sounds of nature. 🌸🌺🌿

There’s something truly special about taking a moment to slow down, enjoy a cuppa, share a chat and soak up the beauty around us. Moments like these create wonderful memories and bring so much joy to our day. 🥰

🌿 Connecting with nature during Nursing Homes Week🌿

There’s something special about being surrounded by flowers, fresh air and a little sunshine. 🌸

Our residents spent a beautiful day exploring the garden centre — choosing favourites, enjoying the colours and scents, and simply taking time to appreciate the little things around us. 🦋

Because meaningful moments don't always have to be big ones. 💚

🌿🦢 Nursing Home Week – Day Two: Connecting with Nature 🦆🍦

What a beautiful day we had for Day Two of Nursing Home Week! 💚

Today was all about connecting with nature, and our residents enjoyed a wonderful nature walk around Lough Boora. 🌳🌸

There was something so special about slowing down, taking in the fresh air, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and watching the swans gliding peacefully across the water and the ducks enjoying their day. 🦢🦆✨

The smiles, conversations, laughter and enjoyment shared along the way reminded us just how much joy can be found in the simple things. ❤️

And, of course, no outing would be complete without a well-deserved ice cream afterwards! 🍦😋

It was a truly lovely day filled with fresh air, beautiful surroundings, great company and plenty of happy memories. 💕 These are the moments that make Nursing Home Week so special — making memories, enjoying the outdoors and celebrating life together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today so enjoyable for our residents. 🌿💚
