Esker Rí Nursing Home Home from home stay Located just outside Clara in Co. Offaly, Esker Rí is a bright, modern, purpose-built facility with 143 beds.

We offer long‑term, respite, convalescent, dementia and palliative care. Our home features ensuite bedrooms, multiple lounge and dining spaces, sheltered gardens, and a chapel. On-site physiotherapy, dietitian support, laundry services, and Wi‑Fi ensure residents are cared for and comfortable. Our daily activities—from gentle exercise and pet therapy to arts & crafts, music and outings—foster well

Today our residents enjoyed a trip into Tullamore town to cheer on the inspiring FTD Brothers, Jordan and Cian Adams, during their incredible challenge of running marathons across all 32 counties in Ireland to raise awareness for Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). ❤️

Residents and staff made colourful placards and gathered along the route to clap, wave and show their support. It was a lovely atmosphere in town with great community spirit throughout the day.

The determination and positivity shown by the FTD Brothers is inspiring, and their mission to raise awareness for dementia and support families affected by it means a lot to our residents and team.

Well done to everyone involved today.

What a lovely morning we had today with the children and teachers from Ballinamere National School ☀️🎶

The residents really enjoyed the beautiful singing and music out in the sunshine. It brought so much joy, laughter and smiles to everyone. A big thank you to the teachers for bringing the children out to visit us — it was such a special morning and very much appreciated by all ❤️

Gardening brings so much more than flowers and vegetables 🌸

Over the past few weeks, some of our residents have been enjoying time outdoors planting flowers, watering plants, and helping to brighten up our garden areas. 🌼🌿

These moments are not only enjoyable but also therapeutic — encouraging conversation, gentle activity, memories of home gardening, and a wonderful sense of achievement. It has been lovely to see smiles, laughter, and teamwork as residents spent time together in the fresh air.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in making our gardens bloom beautifully this season. 💚

Yesterday, some of our residents enjoyed a lovely morning out at Liz Fleming’s annual Coffee Morning in aid of Alzheimer’s Ireland. ☕💜

A wonderful time was had by all, with great company, plenty of chats, and delicious tea and coffee in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

A huge thank you to Liz for her kindness and hospitality in hosting such a special event each year and for supporting such an important cause. Alzheimer’s Ireland does incredible work, and it was lovely for our residents to be part of the morning.

Thank you again, Liz — we are already looking forward to next year! 😊

This week at Esker Rí Nursing Home we proudly celebrated World Hand Hygiene Week with our wonderful staff, residents, and families all getting involved! 🙌🫧

There were smiles, laughter, great fun, and plenty of good vibes shared throughout the home as everyone came together to highlight the importance of good hand hygiene in keeping our community safe and healthy. 💙

From interactive activities to cheerful moments shared between generations, it was a fantastic reminder that learning and promoting healthy habits can also be enjoyable and uplifting.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the week so special. Together, we continue to create a caring, positive, and safe environment for all. ✨
