Peacefully in the wonderful care of the Claremount Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her Husband Martin and Son Paul, her parents William and Winifred and her siblings Mary, Sean, Joe, Una, Bridie and Mick.



Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, her Daughter Carol, son-in-law Mark, Grandchildren Sean, Adele and Luke, Brother Liam Costello( Castlerea), nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at St. Colman’s Funeral Home, Lower James Street, Claremorris (F12 R3W8) on Friday evening October 9th from 5 o’clock with removal at 7 o’clock to St. Colman’s Church, Claremorris, Funeral Mass on Saturday afternoon at 2pm, followed by burial afterwards in St. Colman’s Cemetery Claremorris.

Removal from St. Colman’s Funeral Home on Thursday morning October 8th at 10:30am to Shannon Crematorium for a private service.

The family of the late Jimmy Walsh, who passed away on the September 2nd 2026 wish to express their heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to everyone who called to the house, sent messages of condolence and mass cards, attended the funeral home and funeral mass, those who brought food and gifts and to all the neighbours and friends from Ardkill and Barnacarroll who gave us great support.

A special thanks to Fr. Peter Gannon for all his help and guidance and for a beautiful funeral mass. To Keith Donnellan Funeral Directors who provided a wonderful service and couldn’t do enough for Jimmys family. Thanks to Enda Caulfield for preparing Jimmy’s final resting place. Thanks to Fr. Michael Murphy in Roundfort who called to the house to give Jimmy his final blessing. Thanks to Sharon and Tom for the beautiful music during the funeral mass. Thanks to the McWilliam Park hotel who provided a beautiful meal. To all of Jimmy’s home help carers for all the care and support provided and to the staff at Mayo Hospice for the care they provided to Jimmy during his short stay.

Jimmy’s months mind mass will be celebrated on October 10th in Barnarcarroll Church at 12 noon.

Maudette’s daughters, Edel, Elaine and Rosario, extended family and relatives would like to sincerely thank all who supported and sympathised with us on the occasion of our recent sad loss.

Thank you to Dr. Eadaoin Townley and Dr. Susan Wilson of Townley Medical Practice, Dr. David Lappin Galway Clinic, all of our public health nurses and the team at HealthWest Community Pharmacy for their excellent care and attention over the years. Many thanks to all at Mayo General Hospital for the care given. We express our sincere gratitude to the nurses, doctors, staff and our ward families in Swinford District Hospital for their kindness, care and support given over the past few months. We thank the multidisciplinary teams, homecare agencies and Occupational Therapist Thomas Reilly for the support given. A special thanks to home help carers Marie, Ava, Caroline and Bernadette for your compassionate care. Thanks to palliative care and night nurse for being on call and for support given. Thanks to Evelyn O’Toole for your kindness over the past year. We are indebted to all our neighbours for visiting Mam over the past few years, with a special thanks to Jimmy Mc Walter. We express our gratitude to Antoinette and Willie Loftus for the support and help given over the past few months. Many thanks to all the people who came to our home, the many people who travelled long distances, our relatives who travelled from the USA and UK, and all who attended the Funeral Mass. We thank all who helped in our home, all who managed traffic and provided parking. Your help and generosity is very much appreciated. Thanks also to the neighbours for assisting with parking, and to John Dolan and Declan Heaney for making their premises available. We would also like to thank the local gravediggers who prepared Maudette’s final resting place.

Our heartfelt thanks to Fr. Tommy Commins chief celebrant and to Fr. John D Flannery who concelebrated the Funeral Mass. We also thank Fr. Michael Murphy, Fr. Sean Flynn and Fr. James Mc Donagh for your kindness. Sincere thanks to MW Design for the preparation of Mass booklets, to our neighbours who prepared the church, Eucharistic ministers and to Mary Lydon for livestreaming the Funeral Mass.

We deeply appreciate the guard of honour provided by members of the Garrymore GAA club and the students and staff of Coláiste Mhuire Secondary School Ballymote.
A special word of thanks to Keith Donnellan Funeral Directors for his invaluable help and attention to detail.

Thank you to all who sent Mass cards, sent messages of sympathy, to our neighbours and friends for providing food and to all who sent floral tributes. Our thanks are also extended to the management and staff of the Ard Rí House Hotel Tuam. To our neighbours, relatives and friends your unwavering support has been greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.

Peacefully at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch on August 21st 2026.

Predeceased by his parents Vincent & Josephine Walsh, his Sister Liz McMahon, Brothers-in-law Al Fox and Peter Moroney and Nephew Sean Oglesby.

Sadly missed and remembered by his Sisters Maureen Moroney, Helen Hackett and Phil Fox, his Brothers Jimmy and Michael, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
