~Family Acknowledgement~
Seán King,
Ballinastanford, Claremorris, Co. Mayo
Died 5th May 2026
Seán’s wife Anne, son Stephen, daughter Tara, brother Pat and extended family would like to express our sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to all those who sympathised and supported us on the
recent sad passing of Seán. We would like to thank everyone who called to our home, attended the funeral home, funeral Mass and burial. To everyone who travelled long distances to be with us, telephoned, sent messages of sympathy and support, Mass cards and offered condolences online – thank you. A heartfelt thank you to our extended family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and all those who came to our home with food, a helping hand, comforting words and a listening ear. Your support was very much appreciated.
Our sincere thanks to Pat Gleeson, Sacristan and to Fr. Peter Gannon for his guidance and assistance in providing the beautiful Mass for Seán, concelebrated with Fr. Brian Durnin and Deacon James McLoughlin. A special thank you to Sharon Cuffe and Tom Lyons for the beautiful singing and music in the church and to Eanya for the graveside song. Our deepest gratitude to all of Seán’s former colleagues in Mayo Fire Service from across the county who provided a guard of honour, to Joe Cunnane for leading the funeral cortège in his vintage car to the graveyard and to the many neighbours and friends who lined the route from his home to the church and again to the graveyard. Our heartfelt thanks to Keith Donnellan Funeral Director, for his courtesy, kindness, advice and professionalism with all aspects of the funeral arrangements. Our sincere thanks also to Bláthanna Florists and the McWilliam Hotel for your help and courtesy and to the gravediggers who took such care in preparing Seán’s final resting place.
We also wish to thank Townley Medical Practice, Paul Davey and pharmacy staff, the staff and nurses of the Primary Care Centre, Community and Palliative Care teams for their understanding and assistance during Seán’s illness. A special word of thanks to Maggie, Paul and staff of Fresenius Kabi, whose exceptional service enabled us to care for Seán at home for extended periods. Our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the surgical unit GUH and Professor Maccon Keane and his team at GUH and the Galway Clinic. Dr. Kathleen Cronin, Dr. Seán Ryder, the nursing, care and catering staff of the Galway Clinic, your thoughtfulness and commitment to Seán and the many acts of kindness to us as a family will never be forgotten.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all those who sent messages, phoned, or called to see Seán at home or in hospital. Seán greatly enjoyed each visit, call and message and deeply appreciated every gesture of support as he faced his illness with courage. To all who have assisted us in anyway, your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Seán’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Colman’s Church, Claremorris
On Saturday June 13th at 11.00 a.m.
