Feeling full…. But still hungry….
How… why….
There are lots of reasons this might happen….
If you’ve been dieting, and you’ve lost weight, your body is going to try to work to get that back.
There are mechanisms that recognise an energy deficit…. And hormones like ghrelin, increase to tell us we are still hungry and encourage us to make up that deficit.
That’s why we are hungrier when we diet.
The 8pm slump hits…. You’re tired, you’ve had a long day…. All the restraint you’ve been hanging on to gets kicked to the curb and you go for it.
This is followed by guilt, shame…. “I failed at my diet”….
“Why can’t I just do it?”
“Why can’t I keep this up beyond two weeks”
I’ll bet this wasn’t explained to you before you started though…. Was it?
If you’ve been hammering the ‘only healthy food’ approach….
Making choices based exclusively on ingredients lists……
Only eating lower calorie options and forgetting about satiety…
These are all contributing to how you feel in the evenings.
We work together to create more balance in your choices, to ensure you are 1. Satisfied, 2. Full, 3. Nourished, 4. Content ….
Prioritising your relationship with food and your health over a number on the scale is our goal.
How can we help with yours?
