Joyga.org My Blog Let me introduce myself. I have started this yoga journey with a different approach and
understanding than what I have today.

And I love each step taken
into this wonderful journey. My first encounter with yoga was through my father. I am not sure if
he ever practised yoga, but he was interested in the matter. I once
saw a book on his desk, about yoga and I asked him what yoga is. I
think I was around 7 or 9 years old. He tried to explain to me what
yoga was and he also told me about the book. I remembered that it
was ab

out someone who had an accident and got immobilised. But
through yoga, he was able to walk again. All I understood at that
time was that yoga must be something extremely powerful, I actually
associated yoga with something magic. I suppose, that in a sense, I
still find a spark of magic in yoga, even today.

What are the beasts roaming in your mind? The jungle of your mind

Procrastination is my biggest one
Not pleasant to look in this inner jungle
Not pleasant to face these beasts
But necessary if you want to evolve, if you are tired of being the slave of your mind.
Let your mind be your servant, not your master.

In nature I find solace
In prayers and meditation I find my way back
In simplicity I rejoice

Imagine a world where we are less judgemental and more supportive
Where we see the beauty in everyone, beyond the physical
A world where we are all walking temples as God/ Life force/ Universal Consciousness flows through everything.
If you can imagine it you can create it.
Start with yourself!

How well do you know your spine - part 3

The human spine is not a single bone. It is formed of 33 ( sometimes 34) bones or vertebrae.
A nice analogy is a string of beads.
The string holds the beads together.
But for the spine, it is the vertebrae that hold the "string" together, protecting this treasure. The treasure is the spinal cord that runs through the spine.

Facts about the spinal cord:
🔥It is a cylindrical structure about the diameter of the little finger.
🔥Begins immediately bellow the brain stem and extends to the first lumbar vertebra L1.
🔥The brain and the spinal cord make up the Central Nervous System.

When we work with the spine in yoga we also address the nervous system.

Love your spine ♥️
