So lovely to receive a message like this one!! Our baby boy, Lachlan Abt🥰 was born on Tuesday 3rd at 9.42am, went into Labour naturally,12hrs 42 mins from when arrived in hospital. All midwives said I did very well and was a quick first birth. Thanks so much, the hypnobirthing skills I learned with you were invaluable to me . I would recommend every one should do the class. It's so important to be prepared, your classes were an awesome way to do that preparation in a lovely relaxed, open environment. Thank you 🙏 Sending best wishes Laura C. Cork

There are so many benefits to doing a Group HypnoBirthing class (as this lovely group found out last November! Some of the birth partners are missing from the photo!) 🥰🥰

-You meet other couples with babies due around the same time as you

- You learn from different questions that are asked which you might not have thought of asking but are glad that they did!

- You learn from other people’s experiences and knowledge - I know I always feel like I learn something new myself!

**There are a couple of spaces available on the February group course. Drop me an email if you wish to book in or to get more information. [email protected]

Excited to share the Birth of baby Tara 3rd September 2022! How cute is she? And the story of her birth is wonderful. I had to take out some of the story as it was a bit long for here but will post on my website as it so inspiring for Cork mums to be especially! So thankfully to the parents that have allowed me to to share as giving birth is such a personal experience. This couple attend last Augusts group course…..

On Saturday September 3rd we welcomed our little girl Tara 🥰

Everything went so well and hypnobirthing really made the experience for us.

Full story:
I was just getting settled in bed on Friday night when my waters broke! It was dramatic with loads of liquid everywhere. Myself and David couldn't stop laughing, it was a mix of excitement and surprise at how comical the waters breaking splash and gush really is! David said it's 3 minutes past midnight, very proud of our super punctual baby - Saturday 3rd was the due date!
We rang CUMH and they said to come up in the next few hours. I showered and considered getting back into bed but there was a few blood spots in the waters so we decided we'd be more comfortable at the hospital. It was exciting when we left for the hospital, no rush or panic. Hypnobirthing affirmations had created that mindset for us, relaxed and happy that today is the day we'll meet the baby. Continued in comments….

I love Lauren’s birth story, it’s such a wonderful example of both trusting your instincts & using your HypnoBirthing tools during labour. Lauren’s home birth midwives were amazing and so skilled.. hope you enjoy this story, shared with permission….Macauley Madden

Allison I can’t even begin to tell you how brilliant the Hypnobirthing was !
I started to have pains about 11pm on Saturday night. I just made a little nest for myself on the couch about 1am and listened to my affirmations just went in to my own zone, I told Barry to go to bed and have a sleep because I said this could go on for awhile. I woke him at 7am and said yeah I think this is definitely happening I need to call the midwife. She was here for 8am and she checked me I was 8cm dilated and five mins later I was 10cm dilated. She was shocked haha.
Honestly I couldn’t believe it
I hadn’t felt any pain it was intense cramp feelings but I could breath through them I was amazed I had got to 10cms just by lying on the couch going over my affirmations!
Barry was gone to drop his son home and the midwife was like tell him he get back here the baby is going to be born any second !
Then when I started to push they realized he was back to back. So they had to try turn him around inside me which was painful and that part of the labour was hard they were so great tho they never told me he was back to back they didn’t want to panic me . The midwife said had he been the right way around he would have been born within minutes.
The midwives kept saying your so instinctive you know exactly what to do like about breathing down the baby an all that but that was what I learned from you so I just wanted to say a huge huge thank you it really made such a huge difference to Macualeys birth xx

🌿I’ve noticed that whenever we go on any of our little lockdown walks, nobody moans “mommmmmy”, or says “I want...” or “Where’s my...” (well hardly ever, sure there’s always one!).

🌿I do tend to get a few more joyful expressions of “mommy look...”

🌿Nature really has an interesting way of regulating our mood and emotions:

*Increases release of serotonin
*Helps you sleep better
*Gives your brain some downtime

🌿That’s why it’s so important to get exercise outside in the fresh air during your pregnancy, even just a 20minute walk a day would do the trick. Head to your nearest park, field, beach whatever is on your doorstep.

🌿It’s also really beneficial while your in labour to get outside too.

🌿Of course that may not be entirely possible as labour progresses so visualising your favourite place in nature will be the next best thing.

🌿Bring the image of your favourite place, whether it’s the beach, a forest or a favourite garden and bring the image up nice and big with as much detail as possible.. you will immediate feel the calming effects along with your calm breathing techniques and it will help you to distract from everything else going on around you.

🌿If you wish to learn more about these techniques and much more, send me an email: [email protected]

💖As we are now in Phase 2 of the roadmap to reopening Ireland, I have to admit that I am feeling both relief and a little bit of uncertainty.

💖Relief that we have all done so well to control the spread of the virus and all of our efforts have paid off, but also uncertainty as we enter a little bit of a grey area.

💖Like, it feels like a bit of mixed message that we can now visit friends and family in their homes but also still need to practise social distancing.. how are we supposed to do that? It’s like an invasion when I visit someone with my 3 kids! We simply take over the place!

💖And I’m not too sure I want the kids to visit playgrounds yet. Especially when I’m hearing that they are really overcrowded!

💖We’re also told to continue to stay at home but you can go 20kms....??

💖I suppose I just need to trust my instincts and do what I feels comfortable and right for me and my family at the moment.

💖These feelings of uncertainty reminded me of a conversation I had with a couple last week who we feeling unsure about when was the right time to go to hospital when in labour and felt like they were getting mixed messages...

💖On one hand they are hearing, stay at home because if you go to the hospital too early, you’ll be sent home.

💖Then they were hearing you’re safest in the hospital.

💖And of course, I was telling them, if you go too early into the hospital you could be led down a road of intervention after intervention, leading to further risks and complications.

No wonder they were feeling confused!!

💖Thankfully Hypnobirthing really does help you to tap into those birth instincts that you really do have, to help you know when the time is right for you to go to hospital.

💖It also helps the birth partner understand the birth process s/he won’t rush you off to hospital at the first tint of a surge!

Trust your instincts! Giving birth is so instinctive. If you want to learn how to tap into those instincts, send me a message to book a course [email protected]

One thing for certain is that I will continue with online classes for the next few months! 😉
