šŸ’š What if letting go isn’t giving up… but choosing yourself?

Sometimes we hold on because letting go feels harder.

But protecting your peace, releasing what weighs you down and making space to heal takes courage.

Maybe it’s time to ask yourself what you are ready to let go of!

šŸ’› World Su***de Prevention Day šŸ’›

We often talk about looking after our physical health, but our emotional health needs care too.

Sometimes we don’t need someone to fix things for us. We simply need someone to notice, to listen and to ask:
ā€œHow are you really doing?ā€

And perhaps, just as importantly, we need to give ourselves permission to say, ā€œActually, I’m not okay.ā€

There is no shame in asking for help. There is strength in speaking up, and there is hope in knowing you don’t have to carry everything alone.

Today, let’s check in with the people we care about — and remember to check in with ourselves too. šŸ’›

A conversation could make a difference.

šŸ’š Reviews like this mean so much……

Knowing that I’ve been able to make a positive difference to someone’s life is exactly why I love what I do. šŸ˜‰

Thank you for your kind words, your trust and for allowing me to be part of your journey. šŸ’š

HEALTH EMPOWERMENT DAY

Your health isn’t something that should happen to you. You should have an active role in your wellbeing.

It’s about getting curious, asking questions, learning about what makes you feel your best and not being afraid to ask for support when you need it.

Small steps, better understanding and the right support can make a big difference.

āŒ MYTH: ā€œLymphatic drainage is just a gentle version of deep tissue massage.ā€

Not quite!

Although both are massage therapies, they have very different techniques and purposes.

šŸ’†ā€ā™€ļø Deep tissue massage generally uses firmer pressure and works with the muscles and surrounding tissues, often with the aim of easing muscle tension and areas of tightness.

šŸ’§ Lymphatic drainage massage uses a much lighter, rhythmic and more specific touch, working with the superficial tissues and the pathways of the lymphatic system.

And here’s the interesting part…
The lymphatic vessels we’re working with are located close to the surface of the body, so applying lots of pressure makes the technique ineffective.

In fact, you might be surprised by just how light and gentle lymphatic drainage can feel.

So if you’ve experienced a deep massage before and are expecting lymphatic drainage to feel similar, you might be in for a surprise!

Have you ever experienced lymphatic drainage? Were you surprised by how gentle it felt?

What if some of the things you carry aren’t actually yours? šŸ¤”

For National Read a Book Day, I thought I’d share a book that has really caught my attention. It’s called Emotional Inheritance by Galit Atlas.

It explores how emotions, experiences and patterns can sometimes travel through generations, influencing us in ways we may not even realise.

A fascinating reminder that sometimes, understanding where something comes from can be just as important as understanding what we’re feeling.

Definitely one to make you stop, think… and perhaps look at things from a different perspective. šŸ’

What book has made you stop and think? šŸ“š

Happy Birthday in Heaven, Mam. šŸ¤

Another birthday without you here to celebrate. ā˜¹ļø

I’d give anything for one more chat. But today, I’ll focus on the little things that remind me of you and be grateful that I got to call you Mam.

I hope you’re having the best celebration up there. ā¤ļø

The Whole Person Approach Series

Have you ever wondered why the same issue keeps coming back?

Round and round we go…
• The headache disappears…. then reappears.
• The tight shoulders loosen….. then tighten up again.
• The bloating settles…. then makes another appearance.
• The energy comes back…. only to be back again shattered a few weeks later.

Sound familiar?

Sometimes our bodies can feel like they’re playing a rather frustrating game of repetition.

We deal with what’s bothering us, feel better for a while, and carry on. And then it’s back again.

But what if there’s more to the story?

What if we became curious and figure out:
šŸ’ What else is going on?
šŸ’ What has my body been dealing with?
šŸ’ What might be influencing this?

It’s about stepping back from the one symptom and looking at the bigger picture, because your body doesn’t operate in separate little compartments.

Sometimes, lasting change begins when we stop chasing the symptom and start listening to the person experiencing it. šŸ’š

So, if your body keeps bringing the same message to the table…

Maybe it’s time to listen and explore!!

What recurring symptom would you love to understand better?

āœ‹šŸ»STOP! Quick question…

What does self-care actually mean to YOU?

Is it…
ā˜• Drinking your cuppa while it’s still HOT?
šŸ› A long, uninterrupted bath?
šŸš¶ā€ā™€ļø Going for a walk with nowhere to be?
šŸ“± Putting your phone down and ignoring the notifications?
😓 Going to bed early instead of ā€œjust one more episodeā€?
šŸ’†ā€ā™€ļø Booking that treatment you’ve been promising yourself?
šŸ™…ā€ā™€ļø Saying NO without writing a three-page apology in your head?!

Or maybe it’s something much simpler…
• Five minutes of peace.
• A good belly laugh.
• Time in nature.
• Asking for help.
• Doing absolutely nothing!

Self-care isn’t selfish. And it doesn’t have to look a certain way.

Sometimes the best self-care is simply asking yourself:
ā€œWhat do I need today?ā€ šŸ’š

So, this Self-Care Awareness Month, I’m handing the question over to you…

šŸ‘‡ What does self-care mean to YOU?

There are no wrong answers!

MYTH BUSTING MONDAY

āŒ MYTH: ā€œA good massage has to hurt.ā€

We’ve all heard the saying ā€œno pain, no gainā€ — but when it comes to massage, this isn’t necessarily true!

In fact, more pressure doesn’t automatically mean a better massage. šŸ’†ā€ā™€ļø

A good treatment is about finding the right level of pressure and technique for YOU. It takes into account how your body feels on the day, what you’re hoping to achieve and how you respond.

Sometimes deeper pressure may be appropriate.

Sometimes a much gentler approach is exactly what your body needs.

And here’s something really important…
Your body gets a say!

If something feels too intense, uncomfortable or painful, tell your therapist. Communication is welcome. I want to know so I can create the perfect comfortable massage that works for you.
