As Irelandโs only carersโ co-operative, we set out to do things differently. We believe that everyone has the right to age well, safely, and comfortably in their own home with a reliable, friendly team of carers who are there to enable you to thrive.
At the same time, we are tackling inequality. For too long, home care has relied on low-wage conditions that disproportionately affect women and migrant workers. The Great Care Co-op models there is a better way: offering decent, well-paid employment that enables carers to support their own families while giving outstanding care to yours. ๐
What makes our model unique?
โข Worker-Owned & Democratic: Profits are not extracted out, surplus is reinvested straight back into higher wages, better benefits, and client care.
โข Scalable Model: A sustainable framework designed using local hubs to support local communities.
โข Solving the Care Crisis: By re-investing profits to increase pay and benefits for the workforce, it is possible to build long-term retention and attract peole back into home care jobs for the future. Social innovation isnโt easy. Creating new ways to solve deep-rooted societal challenges takes time, and multi-annual philanthropy is essential to making lasting change possible. We want to send a huge THANK YOU to our dedicated funders:๐ One Foundation๐ Rethink Ireland๐ Community Foundation Ireland Your early stage belief in our mission made this work possible!๐
