In Northern Ireland, bowel cancer screening is offered to people aged 60 to 74 who are registered with a GP. You will be invited to take part every two years, and the screening test can be completed in the privacy of your own home.

Screening can help find bowel cancer at an early stage, when treatment may be more effective. It can also identify polyps, which can be removed before they potentially develop into cancer.

πŸ“¬ If you receive a screening kit in the post, please take the time to complete and return it as instructed.

Remember, bowel cancer screening is for people without symptoms. If you notice changes in your usual bowel habits, blood in your poo, unexplained weight loss, bloating, tummy pain or a lump, or feel more tired than usual, speak to your GP.

β˜€οΈ Protect yourself in the sun

Spending time outdoors is great for your health, but it's important to protect your skin and eyes from harmful UV rays – even on cloudy days.

Remember to:

🧴 Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and good UVA protection
πŸ‘• Cover up with lightweight clothing and a wide-brimmed hat
πŸ•ΆοΈ Wear sunglasses with 100% UV protection
πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated

Babies under 6 months should be kept out of direct sunlight, and everyone should take extra care during hot weather.
