My wish for you today…
Find five minutes that belong only to you.
No guilt. No agenda. Just you.
I promise the world won’t notice you have disappeared for 300 seconds!!

Sometimes the tears don’t come during the crisis… they come when life finally goes quiet.

The kitchen sink has heard more honest conversations than most people ever will.

Tears & emotions can sneak in when you are doing the everyday stuff. Emptying the dishwasher, driving home after a long day.
Hanging the washing out or buying the bread in the supermarket

And it’s not really about the dishes or the bread at all. It might be everything you have been holding in finally catches up with you.

If that happens, try not to brush it off or push it down. Just pause for a second, take a slow breath & let it be there. Then gently ask yourself, “What do I need right now?”

No pressure to fix everything in that moment. Just a bit of kindness towards yourself. You don’t have to make sense of it all today. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is give yourself five quiet minutes before rushing on.

Remember, emotions are messages not problems to be fixed or ignored.

Your tears are telling a story so be kind enough to listen!!

All good wishes

Happy World Self-Care Day!

See all this talk about self-care…..I don’t think self-care is the bubble baths, candles and face masks and spa days we see online. Grand for occasional treats but most of the time, real self-care is much more low key than that. Let’s be real & practical

It might looks like…

◦ Drinking your coffee outside before anyone else is awake (me 🙌)

◦ Deciding not to rehearse tomorrow’s worries today.

◦ Reminding yourself that resting isn’t being lazy.

◦ Accepting that you can be grateful and still find life hard.

◦ Saying, “I can’t commit to that right now.”

◦ Going to bed before you’re exhausted.

◦ Putting your phone on silent for half an hour

◦ Letting a difficult conversation wait until you’ve had time to think

◦ Having a shower because it helps you feel human again

◦ Having food when you are hungry

◦ Leaving the dirty pots until tomorrow because you are more tired than your kitchen is messy.

◦ Saying no without feeling like you have to justify it

◦ Allowing yourself to have a laugh when you are grieving, it’s doesn’t mean you don’t care

◦ Not replying to every message the minute your phone buzzes.

◦ Letting yourself have a cry instead of pretending you are ok

◦ Reminding yourself that good enough really is enough sometimes.

◦ Asking yourself, “What do I need today?” instead of, “What does everyone else need from me?”

None of these things are glamorous. Most people probably will not even notice you have done them…..But believe me folks your mind and body will!!

So today, don’t worry about doing self-care “right.” Just do one wee thing that feels kind to you!! Sometimes that’s all it takes

By the way it’s not a coincidence it’s today…..The date 7/24 symbolizes that self-care is important 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so please remember that, it’s not the odd day when you have time!!

All good wishes,

Tracy

Sometimes the silent treatment isn’t just silence. It can be a place & feeling where you learned to question yourself.

“What did I do wrong?”
“How do I fix this?”
“If I am good enough, maybe they will speak to me again.”

When love or connection disappeared without explanation, people learned that being ignored felt unbearable.

So as adults, you might over-explain.
You might apologise for things that aren’t yours to apologise for.
You might struggle to sit with conflict.
You might feel an overwhelming urge to make things right, even when you have not done anything wrong…..not because you are weak but because your nervous system remembers what silence once meant.

Healthy silence gives people space to think.
The silent treatment is very different. It leaves someone alone with uncertainty, wondering if they are still safe, still loved, still enough!! It’s simply far from nice!

If this is something you recognise in yourself, be gentle with yourself. Are you needing reassurance that connection does not have to disappear every time something feels difficult.

The next time you feel the urge to chase, fix or apologise, pause for bit and ask yourself
“Have I actually done something wrong, or is an old wound/feeling telling me I have?”

Sometimes the most healing thing you can do is remind yourself that another person’s silence does not define your worth

You deserve relationships with partners, family, friends & colleagues where problems can be talked about, not punished with silence!

Mind yourself!

Tracy 🌻

People say, ‘Don’t cry over spilt milk.’

But most of the time…it’s not the milk.

It’s the hundred of things you have been holding together before the milk hit the floor.

Sometimes the smallest thing gives your nervous system permission to finally let go.

Folks the goal here isn’t to stop yourself from feeling. The goal is to stop carrying so much alone that the only way your feelings can get your attention is through the “spilt milk.”

How many of us shout or swear or be unkind to ourselves when that happens? Don’t give it THAT energy but instead try to notice the weight you have carrying before it becomes too heavy.

Share it. Name it. Feel it.
Let someone help you hold it - carrying stuff alone is not fair on you!

Healing & supporting yourself isn’t about never crying over spilt milk…..It’s about not having to carry the whole carton on your own!!

All good wishes,

One year with Moose today… ❤️

I never wanted another dog after our collie passed away…Reggie the huntaway was enough then this annoying little sausage arrived!

She’s clingy. She’s dramatic. She’s demanding
She’s ridiculously loud for something so small and it was easier to potty train my toddlers!!!

I would say the cat “hasn’t a living of a dog” but I think the cat would take THIS dogs life no bother!

All that said….we just love her to bits!! Which is a lovely reminder that love doesn’t usually arrive in perfect packaging.

But somewhere between the barking, the following and the complete lack of personal space, she’s taught me something.

We often say someone is “needy”, yet underneath that is often a simple need
“Please don’t leave me. Help me feel safe.”

And somewhere between all the chaos, she’s reminded me of something I see in counselling every week…..the importance of the need to feel safe, connected and close to someone who helps us settle…and those needs don’t disappear just because we grow up. We just express them differently.

Maybe that’s why, despite the chaos, she’s so easy to love. Maybe it’s a gentle reminder that none of us have to be perfect to be worthy of love, care and connection!!❤️

All good wishes,
Tracy

If life has felt a bit colourless lately, it might not be you. It might be stress

13/07/2026

Some days, the biggest hurdle to getting into the sea isn’t the weather… it’s how you feel about your body.

I know how hard it can be to stand in front of the mirror, put on a swimsuit and feel like your own thoughts are the biggest thing you are battling. There can be a voice that says “not yet”… not until you lose weight, not until you look different, not until you feel more confident.

And I know from my work as a counsellor that it’s not as simple as just “loving your body” or “not caring what people think.” If it was, we would all have figured it out by now.

Body image is complicated and can be painful. For many, some days it can feel harder than others.

But I don’t want that voice, that inner critic to steal the moments that makes you feel alive. You deserve better & more, much more!!…..remember the sea has never asked you to change before freezing your toes off or throwing you a wave! It doesn’t see your size, your shape, your scars, your insecurities, or the things you wish were different.

It just take you exactly as you are…..the beach doesn’t care either and those people on it really don’t care either!

And maybe it isn’t about waiting to feel completely confident. Maybe it is about putting on the swimsuit with all those feelings still there… and choosing to step towards something that brings somewhere closer to healing & empowerment!

Please don’t put your life on hold waiting for a body you feel more worthy of living in. You are already worthy of the laughter, the freedom, the cold water, the sunshine, the memories, and all the beautiful moments that are waiting for you.

As a teen & young adult I didn’t wear the swimsuit - looking back I do feel I missed out…..now I wear the swimsuit & I don’t care, freedom sometimes comes with age and caring less. We don’t have to wait for anything!!! Caring less right here, right now might give you the best freedom you can get!!!

I always say body image can be a bit of an uninvited backseat driver. It has something to say about the swimsuit, the shorts, the holiday, the beach, the gym, the photos… if you let it, it would have an opinion on what socks you should wear!!! It can be hard, destructive and rob you of many things and even talk people out of the very things that make them feel most alive.

Let nothing stand between you and the life you love or the fun you could have! You matter, whatever you are wearing or not wearing!!!

All good wishes today & everyday!
