👇 SHOULDER PAIN THAT WON'T GO AWAY? YOUR NECK MIGHT BE THE REAL CULPRIT.

Look at this diagram closely.

You feel the pain in your shoulder and upper arm. So naturally, you massage your shoulder, stretch it, maybe even get a shoulder injection.

But the actual problem isn't in your shoulder at all. It's coming from your neck.

Let's break down what's happening. 👇

🧠 THE HIDDEN CONNECTION (C5-C6):

This image shows a C5-C6 nerve irritation.

When the disc or joint at C5-C6 gets irritated, it inflames the C6 nerve root. That nerve root travels down through the brachial plexus and directly innervates the shoulder and upper arm (specifically the deltoid muscle).

So when your neck is unhappy, your shoulder screams.

⚠️ THE SIGNS & SYMPTOMS TO WATCH FOR:

If you have a C5-C6 issue, you might notice:

🔹 Shoulder pain – deep ache in the deltoid or top of the shoulder

🔹 Upper arm pain – radiating down the lateral (outer) side of the arm

🔹 Weakness – difficulty lifting your arm out to the side or reaching overhead

🔹 Neck stiffness – especially when looking up or turning your head

🔹 Numbness or tingling – that may travel down into the thumb and forearm

🔹 Pain that worsens with poor posture, sitting at a desk, or looking down at your phone

If you've been treating your shoulder but nothing is working, it's time to look higher up.

❌ THE DANGER OF LEAVING IT UNTREATED:

A pinched nerve doesn't just "heal itself" if the mechanical pressure remains. Untreated C5-C6 nerve irritation can lead to:

Chronic, relentless pain that spreads and intensifies

Permanent muscle weakness – dropping things, struggling to lift your arm

Muscle wasting (atrophy) – the deltoid muscle literally shrinks from lack of nerve input

Frozen shoulder – loss of motion due to pain and guarding

Central sensitisation – where your nervous system becomes hyper-sensitive, making even light touch painful

The longer the nerve stays compressed, the harder it is to bring it back.

✅ WHAT BACK PAIN & POSTURE CLINIC CAN DO:

We don't just chase the pain. We find the source and fix it without surgery.

0️⃣ FIRST: POSTURAL SCAN + NEUROLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
We assess your neck mobility, test your C6 nerve function (biceps, wrist extension), and map your posture to see exactly how your neck is loading your shoulder.

1️⃣ NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION (Cervical)
Gentle, computer-controlled traction to create space at C5-C6, taking the pressure off the C6 nerve root so it can finally heal.

2️⃣ FOCUSED SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (f-ESWT)
Precision acoustic waves to reduce inflammation around the irritated nerve and break down scar tissue in the surrounding muscles.

3️⃣ OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY
Restoring motion to the stiff C5-C6 segment, releasing tight scalenes and upper traps, and balancing your shoulder girdle to take the strain off your neck.

4️⃣ NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Specific nerve glides for the C6 root, targeted strengthening for the deltoid and biceps, and postural retraining to keep your neck neutral.

🎯 THE BOTTOM LINE:

Your shoulder is not the problem. It's the messenger.

If you have shoulder pain that isn't responding to shoulder treatment, let us look at your neck.

Act early. Nerves can recover. But the longer you wait, the harder it becomes.

👇 NUMBNESS IN YOUR THUMB? WEAKNESS IN YOUR BICEPS? YOUR NECK IS CALLING.

Look at this diagram closely.

Your neck isn't just holding your head up. It’s the command centre for your shoulders, arms, and hands.

When a disc bulges, a bone spur forms, or arthritis narrows the space, the nerve roots in your neck get compressed. This is called Cervical Radiculopathy.

And the symptoms don’t stay in your neck—they travel. 👇

🧠 THE NERVE ROOT MAP (C5–T1):

🔹 C5 Nerve Root:

Biceps – Muscle weakness or pain

Shoulder region pain

This is the answer to the quiz at the bottom of the image! ✅

🔹 C6 Nerve Root:

Thumb – Numbness or sensation changes

Weakness bending the wrist backward

🔹 C7 Nerve Root:

Triceps – Weakness straightening the elbow

Middle finger and ring finger – Sensation changes

🔹 C8 Nerve Root:

Little finger – Involvement

Weak grip strength and hand clumsiness

🔹 T1 Nerve Root:

Inner side of the hand – Neural distribution

Weakness in the small muscles of the hand

(Quiz Answer: A. C5 Nerve Root – Compression here typically affects the biceps muscle and shoulder region.)

⚠️ WHY THIS MATTERS:

If you have a pinched nerve in your neck, you might notice:

Pain radiating from your neck into your shoulder or arm

Numbness or tingling in specific fingers

Weakness in your biceps, triceps, or grip

Difficulty with fine motor tasks (buttoning shirts, typing, opening jars)

The longer a nerve stays compressed, the longer it takes to recover. Sometimes, the weakness can become permanent.

❌ WHY "JUST REST IT" OR "JUST STRETCH" WON'T FIX IT:

If a nerve root is being compressed, no amount of shoulder rolls or stretches will fix it.

Rest might ease symptoms temporarily, but it won't decompress the nerve

Ignoring the neck means the weakness and numbness can progress

Painkillers mask the signal while the nerve stays pinched

Nerves don't wait forever.

✅ WHAT BACK PAIN & POSTURE CLINIC CAN DO (Evidence-Based Modalities):

We don't just treat the symptom—we find the source and decompress the nerve.

0️⃣ FIRST: POSTURAL SCAN + NEUROLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
We map your posture, test your biceps/triceps/grip strength, and assess your neck mobility to identify exactly which nerve root is involved.

1️⃣ NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION
Gentle, computer-controlled cervical traction that creates negative pressure inside the disc. This takes pressure OFF the compressed nerve root, allowing the bulge to retract and the nerve to heal.

2️⃣ FOCUSED EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (f-ESWT)
Precision acoustic waves that break down scar tissue, stimulate blood flow, and reduce inflammation around the nerve root—accelerating tissue repair and reducing pain.

3️⃣ OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY
Hands-on treatment to restore motion in stiff spinal segments, release tight muscles (scalenes, upper traps), and balance the shoulders and upper back to reduce neck strain.

4️⃣ NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Targeted nerve glides to free the trapped nerve, specific strengthening for weakened muscles (biceps, triceps, grip), and postural retraining to keep your neck in a neutral position.

5️⃣ POSTURAL & ERGONOMIC ADVICE
Practical advice for screen position, sleeping posture, and driving to prevent flare-ups and keep your neck healthy long-term.

🎯 THE BOTTOM LINE:

If your arm is numb, your grip is weak, or your shoulder hurts—don't just assume it's a shoulder problem.

It could be cervical radiculopathy—a nerve root being compressed in your neck.

Act early. Nerves can recover. But the longer you wait, the harder it becomes.

👇 WAKING UP WITH TINGLY, NUMB HANDS? IT MIGHT NOT BE YOUR HANDS.

That pins-and-needles feeling that jolts you awake at night? The numbness that makes you shake your hands out before you can even grab your phone?

Most people blame “poor circulation” or “sleeping on it wrong.”

But look at this diagram. Those nerves in your hands don’t start in your wrist—they start in your neck.

And when a disc bulges at C4-C5, it can compress the C5 nerve root. That compression gets worse at night, depending on your sleep position and pillow height, leading to nighttime tingling and numbness.

Your neck might be the reason your hands are falling asleep.

🧠 WHAT’S ACTUALLY HAPPENING:

Your cervical nerves exit your spine and travel all the way down to your fingers. When a disc bulges or bone spurs form, it narrows the space where those nerves live.

During the day, you might notice:

Tingling in specific fingers (C5 affects the shoulder and outer arm; C6 affects the thumb and index finger)

Neck pain or stiffness

Weakness or clumsiness in your hands

But at night, when you’re lying down, your sleep posture can increase that compression:

Sleeping with your arm under your pillow or stretched overhead

A pillow that’s too high or too low, putting your neck in a strained position

Sleeping on your stomach or on the affected side

The result? You wake up with hands that feel like they belong to someone else. And the really concerning part? The symptom pattern—which fingers are affected—tells us exactly which nerve root in your neck is being pinched.

⚠️ WHEN TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY:

Nighttime hand tingling is common, but it’s not always harmless. Here’s when you need to pay attention:

Watch for:

Tingling or numbness that follows a specific finger pattern (not the whole hand)

Symptoms that are getting worse or more frequent

Weakness—dropping things, trouble gripping

Neck pain, stiffness, or reduced neck movement

🚨 RED FLAGS—SEEK URGENT CARE:

New or worsening weakness in your arms or hands (Grade 3/5 or less on strength testing)

Bilateral symptoms—both arms or legs affected

Gait disturbance—unsteady walking or stumbling

Bowel or bladder dysfunction

Fever, unexplained weight loss, or unremitting pain that disturbs sleep—these can suggest infection, inflammation, or cancer

If you experience any of these red flags, do not wait. Contact your GP urgently or attend your nearest Emergency Department.

❌ WHY “JUST IGNORE IT” OR “JUST CHANGE YOUR PILLOW” WON’T FIX IT:

Changing your pillow might help symptoms temporarily. But if the underlying issue is a bulging disc or nerve compression, the problem will keep coming back.

Most cervical radiculopathy cases improve without surgery. But they improve best with the right approach—not just guessing.

✅ WHAT BACK PAIN & POSTURE CLINIC CAN DO:

We specialise in non-surgical solutions for nerve-related issues like this:

0️⃣ FIRST: POSTURAL SCAN + NEUROLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
We map your posture, assess your neck mobility, and test specific muscle groups to identify exactly which nerve root is involved. No guessing.

1️⃣ NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION
Gentle, computer-controlled traction to create space around the compressed nerve root and reduce pressure on the affected nerve.

2️⃣ FOCUSED SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (f-ESWT)
Breaks down adhesions, stimulates blood flow, and reduces inflammation around the nerve root.

3️⃣ OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY
Restores motion in stiff spinal segments, releases tight muscles (scalenes, upper traps), and balances your shoulders and upper back to reduce neck strain.

4️⃣ NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Nerve glides, targeted strengthening for weakened muscles, and postural retraining to keep your neck in a neutral position.

5️⃣ SLEEP POSTURE & ERGONOMIC ADVICE
We’ll show you exactly how to position your head, neck, and arms at night—and during the day—to minimise nerve compression.

🎯 THE BOTTOM LINE:

If your hands are tingling at night, your neck is trying to tell you something.

Most cases can be resolved without surgery—but only if you act before the weakness becomes permanent.

👇 THAT ARM PAIN, NUMBNESS, OR WEAKNESS? IT MIGHT NOT BE YOUR ARM.

Look at this map closely.

Your neck isn't just holding your head up – it's the control centre for your entire upper body.

Each nerve root from C1 to C8 supplies a different part of your head, neck, shoulder, arm, and hand. And when one of those nerves gets compressed or irritated?

The symptoms show up exactly where you'd least expect – in your arm, hand, or fingers.

Let's break down what each level does. 👇

🧠 THE CERVICAL NERVE MAP (C1–C8):

C1–C2: Lower jaw, back of the head, upper neck
C3: Upper neck, back of the head
C4: Lower neck, upper shoulders
C5: Collarbone, upper shoulder, lateral arm
C6: Lateral forearm, thumb
C7: Back of arm, index and middle finger
C8: Medial forearm, ring finger and little finger

When a disc bulges, a bone spur forms, or arthritis narrows the space, the nerve root gets squeezed. And that compression causes radiating pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness down the arm.

⚠️ THE SIGNS DEPEND ON WHICH NERVE IS AFFECTED:

C5 compression:

Pain or numbness in the shoulder and lateral arm

Weakness lifting the arm out to the side (deltoid)

C6 compression:

Pain or tingling in the thumb and lateral forearm

Weakness bending the wrist backward

Biceps weakness

C7 compression:

Pain or numbness in the index and middle finger

Weakness straightening the elbow (triceps)

Weak grip strength

C8 compression:

Pain or numbness in the ring finger and little finger

Weak grip and hand clumsiness

⚠️ THE PROGRESSION – DON'T IGNORE IT:

Early warning signs:

Intermittent tingling or numbness in specific fingers

Occasional shoulder or arm pain that comes and goes

Difficulty with fine motor tasks (buttons, zippers, typing)

Mid-stage:

Pain becomes constant or more frequent

Weakness in grip or arm strength

Numbness becomes persistent

Late stage (warning):

Visible muscle wasting (loss of bulk in the hand or forearm)

Significant weakness – can't grip objects, drop things often

Difficulty with daily tasks – brushing teeth, holding a cup

Cervical radiculopathy is a common condition that can significantly reduce function, productivity, and quality of life. The good news? Most patients with cervical radiculopathy get better over time without surgery.

❌ WHY "JUST SIT UP STRAIGHTER" WON'T FIX THIS:

If a nerve is being compressed by a bulging disc or bone spur, no amount of posture correction alone will relieve the pressure.

Arm exercises won't decompress a nerve

Shoulder treatment won't address the disc herniation

Ignoring the neck means the weakness can become permanent

Nerves don't wait forever.

✅ WHAT BACK PAIN & POSTURE CLINIC CAN DO:

We offer a multimodal, non-surgical approach that tackles the root cause – not just the symptoms.

0️⃣ FIRST: POSTURAL SCAN + NEUROLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
We don't just treat symptoms – we find the source.

Our postural scan reveals head, neck, and shoulder alignment

We test specific muscles (deltoid, biceps, triceps, grip) to confirm which nerve root is involved

Together, they tell us exactly where the compression is happening

1️⃣ NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION
Gentle, computer‑controlled traction to:

Create space around the compressed nerve root

Reduce pressure on the affected nerve

Allow the disc to reduce its bulge

Studies show this approach is safe and efficacious for cervical radiculopathy

2️⃣ FOCUSED EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (f-ESWT)
For chronic nerve irritation, muscle tightness, or scar tissue:

Breaks down adhesions that compress the nerve

Stimulates blood flow to damaged tissues

Reduces inflammation around the nerve root

3️⃣ OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY
We treat the whole chain:

Restoring motion at the affected spinal levels so nerves can glide freely

Releasing tight muscles (scalenes, upper traps) that can trap nerves

Balancing the shoulders and upper back to reduce neck strain

OMT is relatively low risk and can provide symptomatic relief and reduced medication use

4️⃣ NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Once compression is reduced:

Nerve glides specific to the affected root (C5, C6, C7, or C8)

Targeted strengthening for weakened muscles (deltoid, biceps, triceps, grip)

Postural retraining to keep the neck in a neutral position

Evidence shows that a combination of manual therapy and exercise is the most effective approach

5️⃣ POSTURAL & ERGONOMIC ADVICE

Screen position (looking down = more compression)

Sleeping position (pillow height matters!)

Driving posture (headrest position)

6️⃣ RED LIGHT & ELECTRIC THERAPY
Calming inflammation and muscle spasm around the irritated nerves – allowing healing to begin.

🎯 THE BOTTOM LINE:

If your arm hurts, your fingers are tingling, or your grip is failing – don't just assume it's a "shoulder problem" or "getting older."

That could be cervical radiculopathy – a nerve root being compressed in your neck.

Act early. Nerves can recover. But the longer you wait, the harder it becomes.

👇 SHOULDER PAIN, ARM NUMBNESS, AND WEAK GRIP – THIS IS WHY.

Look at this diagram closely.

At C5-C6 and C6-C7, the discs can bulge, bone spurs can form, and nerves can get pinched.

The result? Pain that radiates into your shoulder, numbness down your arm, and weakness in your hands.

And if you've been treating your shoulder... you might be missing the real problem.

Let's break it down. 👇

🧠 WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT:

C5-C6 Level:

The disc between C5 and C6 can bulge or herniate

This compresses the C6 nerve root

The C6 nerve supplies the biceps, wrist extensors, and parts of the shoulder

C6-C7 Level:

The disc between C6 and C7 can also bulge or herniate

This compresses the C7 nerve root

The C7 nerve supplies the triceps, wrist flexors, and hand muscles

Additional findings:

Bone spurs (osteophytes) – bony growths that narrow the space for the nerves

Radiating shoulder pain – pain that starts in the neck and travels down

Arm numbness and weakness – classic signs of nerve compression

Also shown:

Dysphonia (voice changes) and Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) – these can occur with large anterior disc bulges or osteophytes pressing on the esophagus or recurrent laryngeal nerve

⚠️ THE SIGNS OF C5-C6 AND C6-C7 COMPRESSION:

C5-C6 (C6 nerve root):

Pain or numbness in the thumb side of the hand

Weakness bending your wrist backward (wrist extension)

Weakness in your biceps (elbow flexion)

Pain radiating from the neck into the shoulder and down the arm

C6-C7 (C7 nerve root):

Pain or numbness in the middle finger

Weakness straightening your elbow (triceps)

Weak grip strength

Pain radiating down the back of the arm into the hand

Combined picture:

You can't grip things like you used to

Dropping objects becomes more common

Shoulder pain that doesn't respond to shoulder treatment

Neck pain that travels down your arm

⚠️ THE PROGRESSION – DON'T IGNORE IT:

Early warning signs:

Intermittent tingling or numbness in the thumb or middle finger

Occasional shoulder pain that comes and goes

Difficulty with fine motor tasks (buttons, zippers, typing)

Mid-stage:

Pain becomes constant or more frequent

Weakness in grip strength

Numbness becomes persistent

Dropping things more often

Late stage (warning):

Visible muscle wasting (loss of bulk in the hand or forearm)

Significant weakness – can't open jars, can't carry heavy items

Difficulty with daily tasks – brushing teeth, holding a cup

❌ WHY "SHOULDER TREATMENT" WON'T FIX THIS:

If the problem is in your neck, no amount of shoulder exercises will help.

Rotator cuff rehab won't decompress a nerve

Shoulder injections won't address the disc herniation

Ignoring the neck means the weakness can become permanent

Nerves don't wait forever.

✅ WHAT BACK PAIN & POSTURE CLINIC CAN DO:

0️⃣ FIRST: POSTURAL SCAN + NEUROLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

Take pressure OFF the compressed nerve roots

Allow the discs to reduce their bulge

Restore disc height and hydration

2️⃣ FOCUSED EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (f-ESWT)
For chronic nerve irritation, bone spurs, or tight neck muscles:

Breaks down adhesions that compress the nerve

Stimulates blood flow to damaged tissues

Reduces inflammation around the nerve root

3️⃣ OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY
We treat the whole chain:

Restoring motion at C5-C6 and C6-C7 so the nerves can glide freely

Releasing the scalenes and upper traps (muscles that can trap the nerves)

Balancing the shoulders and upper back to reduce neck strain

Mobilising the thoracic spine (if your upper back is stiff, your neck overworks)

4️⃣ NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Once compression is reduced:

Nerve glides specific to the C6 and C7 roots

Biceps strengthening (C6)

Triceps strengthening (C7)

Grip strengthening (waking up the hand muscles)

Postural retraining to keep the neck neutral

5️⃣ POSTURAL & ERGONOMIC ADVICE

Screen position (looking down = more compression)

Sleeping position (pillow height matters!)

Driving posture (headrest position)

Phone use (text neck is a real thing)

6️⃣ RED LIGHT & ELECTRIC THERAPY
Calming inflammation and muscle spasm around the irritated nerves – allowing healing to begin.

🎯 THE BOTTOM LINE:

If your shoulder hurts, your arm is numb, and your grip is failing – don't just assume it's a shoulder problem.

That could be C5-C6 or C6-C7 nerve compression from a disc herniation or bone spurs in your neck.

👇 WHERE DOES YOUR LEG HURT? THE MAP TELLS THE STORY.

Sciatica isn't just "pain down the leg."

Where it hurts tells us which nerve root is being squashed.

Look at this diagram. It's a map of your lower spine – and the exact areas of your leg that each nerve supplies.

If you have pain, numbness, or tingling in a specific zone, we can trace it straight back to the disc level that's causing the trouble.

Let's break it down. 👇

🧠 THE DERMATOME MAP (L2 TO S1):

L2 – Front of the thigh

Pain or numbness in the upper front of your thigh

Weakness bending your hip

L3 – Front and inner thigh, knee area

Pain, burning, or numbness in the front/inner thigh

Weakness straightening your knee (quadriceps)

Knee may buckle when standing or walking

L4 – Front of shin, inner side of lower leg

Pain or tingling down the front of your shin

Weakness lifting your foot upward (dorsiflexion)

Difficulty walking on your heels

L5 – Outer shin, back of the foot, big toe

Pain, numbness, or tingling on the outer shin, top of foot, and big toe

Weakness lifting your big toe (extensor hallucis longus)

Foot drop – the foot slaps when walking

This is the most common level for disc herniation

S1 – Back of the foot, heel, outer side of the foot, sole, calf muscle

Pain, numbness, or tingling in the calf, outer foot, and sole

Weakness pointing your foot downward (plantarflexion)

Difficulty standing on your toes

Loss of calf muscle bulk

⚠️ WHY THIS MATTERS:

Your leg isn't the problem – it's the messenger.

Pain in the front of your thigh = L2-L3 issue.
Pain in the shin and big toe = L5 issue.
Pain in the calf and outer foot = S1 issue.

If you're feeling any of these, your nerve root is talking to you.

⚠️ THE PROGRESSION – DON'T IGNORE IT:

Early warning signs:

Intermittent pain, tingling, or numbness

Comes and goes, often worse with certain positions

You can still move normally

Mid-stage:

Pain becomes constant or more frequent

Some weakness starts – difficulty lifting toes or standing on heels

Numbness becomes persistent

Late stage (warning):

Foot drop – toes drag when walking

Calf wasting – visible loss of muscle bulk

Weakness standing on toes

Numbness in the saddle area (groin, ge****ls) – this is a RED FLAG

❌ WHY WAITING IS RISKY:

Nerve compression isn't just about pain.

If pressure on a nerve root continues for too long:

Weakness can become permanent

Numbness can become irreversible

Muscle wasting can be permanent

You may never regain full strength or sensation

Time matters.

You don't wait until weakness is severe before seeking help. You act when you first notice:

Pain in a specific dermatome pattern

Tingling that doesn't go away

Any hint of weakness

✅ WHAT BACK PAIN & POSTURE CLINIC CAN DO:

0️⃣ FIRST: POSTURAL SCAN + DERMATOME MAPPING
We don't just treat symptoms – we map your pain to the nerve root.

Our postural scan reveals the imbalances loading your spine unevenly

We correlate your symptoms to the exact dermatome

Together, they tell us which disc level is causing the trouble

1️⃣ NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION
Gentle, computer‑controlled traction to:

Create space around the compressed nerve root

Reduce pressure on the specific disc (L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5, or L5-S1)

Restore disc height and improve hydration

For dermatomal pain, this is often the answer without surgery

2️⃣ FOCUSED EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (f-ESWT)
For chronic nerve irritation, endplate changes, or ligament strain:

Stimulates healing in the tissues around the nerve root

Reduces inflammation that irritates the nerve

3️⃣ OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY
We treat the whole chain:

Restoring motion to stiff segments so the nerve root can glide freely

Balancing the pelvis so the disc isn't taking all the load

Releasing the psoas and other muscles that can compress the nerve

4️⃣ NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Once compression is reduced:

Nerve glides for the specific root (L2, L3, L4, L5, or S1)

Core stabilization (multifidus, transversus abdominis)

Targeted leg strengthening for the affected muscles

Gait retraining to eliminate compensatory limping

5️⃣ POSTURAL & ERGONOMIC ADVICE (Based on YOUR scan)

Sitting posture (the worst for disc pressure)

Lifting technique (protecting the nerve roots)

Sleeping positions (supporting the lumbar curve)

6️⃣ RED LIGHT & ELECTRIC THERAPY
Calming inflammation and muscle spasm around the irritated nerve – allowing healing to begin.

🎯 THE BOTTOM LINE:

If your leg hurts in a specific pattern – front of thigh, shin, big toe, or calf – that's not random.

That's your spine telling you exactly which nerve root is in trouble.

And the sooner you act, the better your chances of making a full recovery – without permanent weakness or numbness.

Is your young athlete complaining of low back pain that just won't go away? 🏃‍♂️🤸‍♀️

Here's a stat every coach and parent needs to know:

👉 *In extension-based sports (gymnastics, diving, dance, cricket bowling, volleyball, etc.), nearly 40% of adolescents with low back pain lasting MORE than two weeks will actually have spondylolysis visible on scans.*

That's not just "growing pains" or a pulled muscle. Spondylolysis is a stress fracture in the spine — and early detection is key to getting them back in the game safely.

If your young athlete has been sidelined with ongoing back pain, don't wait it out. Get them checked. 🩺

👇 YOUR NECK DOES MORE THAN HOLD YOUR HEAD UP.

It is quite literally your control center.

Every nerve that exits your cervical spine (C1 through C8) connects to a different part of your head, face, throat, shoulders, arms, and hands.

And when one of those nerves gets irritated?

It doesn't always feel like "neck pain."

Sometimes it feels like:

Headaches that won't quit

Dizziness or brain fog

Sinus issues that aren't allergies

A sore throat with no infection

Tingling fingers or a weak grip

Take a look at this diagram. It maps exactly what each cervical nerve controls.

🧠 WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT (C1–C8 BREAKDOWN):

C1 – The Headache Nerve

Headaches, migraines, dizziness, poor concentration

If you've tried everything for migraines… look at C1.

C2 – The Eye & Sinus Nerve

Eye strain, sinus issues, optic nerve tension, allergies, light sensitivity

That "pressure behind your eyes" might be your neck.

C3 – The Face & Skin Nerve

Ear pain, neuralgia, facial pain, skin issues (even acne)

Unexplained facial pain? Check C3.

C4 – The Breathing & Throat Nerve

Breathing discomfort, sore throat, mouth sores, snoring

Snoring that isn't sleep apnea? Could be C4 irritation.

C5 – The Voice & Swallowing Nerve

Hoarseness, sore throat, swollen glands, difficulty swallowing

Before you see an ENT, consider C5.

C6 – The Neck & Shoulder Nerve

Neck pain, stiff shoulders, limited range of motion, upper back tension

This is the "classic" neck pain level.

C7 – The Arm Nerve

Tingling in arms, numbness, weakness, pain down the arm

That electric shock down your arm? That's C7.

C8 – The Hand Nerve

Hand pain, numbness in fingers, weak grip, clumsiness

Dropping things? Buttons becoming hard? That's C8.

⚠️ THE BIG PICTURE:

Your cervical spine doesn't just affect your neck.

It affects your:

Headaches and concentration

Vision and sinuses

Face and skin

Breathing and voice

Shoulders and arms

Hands and grip

Ignoring neck tension can lead to "mystery" symptoms that have nothing to do with the actual problem area.

✅ WHAT BACK PAIN & POSTURE CLINIC CAN DO:

We don't just treat "neck pain." We treat the nerve roots that control everything below.

1️⃣ NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION (Cervical)
Gentle, computer-controlled traction to:

Create space between the vertebrae

Take pressure OFF irritated nerve roots (C1–C8)

Restore disc height and reduce nerve tension

For C5–C8 symptoms (arm, hand, grip issues), this is often transformative

2️⃣ FOCUSED EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (f-ESWT)
For chronic tension in the suboccipitals, upper traps, or deep neck flexors:

Breaks down adhesions that compress nerve roots

Improves blood flow to irritated tissues

Reduces neurogenic inflammation

3️⃣ OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY
We treat the whole cervical chain:

Cranial osteopathy – For C1–C2 tension (headaches, dizziness, eye strain)

Cervical mobilization – Restoring motion at specific levels (C3 for facial pain, C6 for shoulder stiffness)

Thoracic spine release – Because a stiff upper back forces the neck to compensate

Soft tissue work – Releasing the muscles that pull on the nerve roots

4️⃣ POSTURAL REHABILITATION (The "Top Down" Fix)

Restoring the cervical lordosis (the natural C‑curve)

Chin tucks with retraction (done safely)

Deep neck flexor strengthening

Ergonomics for screen work, driving, and sleeping

5️⃣ NEURAL MOBILIZATION (Nerve Glides)
Specific glides for:

C5–C6 (arm and shoulder symptoms)

C7 (arm pain and tingling)

C8 (hand and grip issues)

6️⃣ RED LIGHT & ELECTRIC THERAPY
Calming inflammation and muscle spasm around the irritated nerve roots – allowing healing to begin.

🎯 THE BOTTOM LINE:

If you have "mystery" symptoms – headaches, dizziness, sinus pressure, hoarseness, tingling fingers, weak grip – don't just assume it's "stress" or "getting older."

Your cervical nerves might be asking for help.

We can map your symptoms to the likely nerve level, then treat the root cause without drugs or surgery.
