🦒🦁 Our Final Adventure Before the Summer Break – African Animals!🦁🦒

What a wonderful way to finish an amazing season together! Before we say goodbye for our summer break, we travelled on an exciting safari adventure to explore the incredible animals of Africa. 🌍☀️

🦓 We discovered some of Africa's most fascinating animals, talking about what makes each one unique. We looked closely at their beautiful patterns and learned how stripes, spots and colours help us recognise different animals.

🟨 The children explored colours and geometric shapes while decorating adorable giraffes.🦒

🎨 During our craft activity, we created the cutest little tigers! The children painted them in bright colours and carefully added their stripes, learning that just like our fingerprints, **no two tigers have exactly the same pattern**. Each tiger became a unique masterpiece! 🐯✨

🌴 Our sensory play was full of imagination and storytelling as the children built their very own mini safari worlds. Using animal figures, cacti, palm trees, rocks and natural materials, they created realistic habitats where their animals could explore, play and roam freely. It was a wonderful opportunity for imaginative play, language development and lots of happy smiles! 🦒🪨🌿

What a fantastic way to end another incredible season! 💛 Thank you to all our wonderful families for making this term so special. We wish everyone a fun-filled summer and can't wait to welcome you back in August for more exciting adventures and learning through play! ☀️🌈

🏡 Try at home:

🦁 Animal Charades
Take turns acting like different African animals while everyone else guesses which one you are. Can you stomp like an elephant or stretch your neck like a giraffe?
🌍 Safari Binoculars
Make simple binoculars from two cardboard tubes and go on a "safari" around the garden or park, spotting birds, insects and other wildlife.
🎵 African Animal Dance
Play some music and move like different safari animals. Stomp like an elephant, leap like a gazelle, prowl like a tiger or swing your arms like a monkey! 'sLittleLearners

🌊🐠 Ocean Adventures at 's Little Learners 🐠🌊

With the holiday season just around the corner and the sunshine finally here, last week's theme was all about the amazing creatures that live beneath the waves! ☀️🏖️

🐙 We explored the fascinating world of the ocean, learning about the different animals that live in the sea and naming our favourite marine creatures.

🦀 The children developed their hand-eye coordination by matching pairs of sea animal pictures, strengthening memory and visual recognition skills through play.

🐚 To build fine motor skills, we decorated beautiful seashells using colourful mosaics, creating unique underwater treasures.

💦 Our favourite activity of the day was our ocean sensory play! The children created their own little underwater world, launching fish into the water and catching them with small sieves. There were lots of smiles, splashes and laughter as everyone enjoyed cooling down while learning through play on these warm summer days. 🐟🌊💙

Another wonderful session filled with imagination, creativity and hands-on discovery! ✨

🏡 Try at home:

🎣 Fishing Game
Fill a bowl or bath with toy sea animals or floating objects and use a small sieve or spoon to "catch" them. Count how many you collect!

🐬 Ocean Yoga
Move like your favourite sea creatures — swim like a fish, stretch like a starfish, waddle like a penguin or glide like a dolphin.

📚 Story Time by the Sea
Read a book about ocean animals together and ask your child questions about where each animal lives, what it eats and how it moves.

🌊🐚 Exploring the Wonders of the Sea at ’s Little Learners 🐚🌊

Last week we dived into an exciting ocean adventure and explored both the deep blue sea and the treasures waiting to be discovered along the shore ✨

💙 We talked about the different shades of the sea and discovered what treasures can be found on the beach
🐚 The children explored and sorted shells of different shapes and sizes, developing observation and classification skills
🎨 During our creative activity, we combined two beautiful elements of nature — the blue sea and golden sand. To add a special sensory touch, the children sprinkled real sand onto their artwork, creating wonderful textures and bringing their seaside scenes to life ✨
🧪 Our favourite activity was a magical colour-changing experiment! Using droppers, the children carefully added water drop by drop and watched as transparent water transformed into beautiful ocean colours. With blue, green and purple crepe paper, we created a little bit of seaside magic right before our eyes 🌊💜💚

A wonderful session full of creativity, discovery, sensory exploration and hands-on learning! 🐠✨

🐚 Shell Sorting Challenge
Collect shells or small objects and sort them by size, shape or colour.
⛵ Floating Boat Challenge
Make a small boat from foil, paper or recycled materials and see how many coins or small objects it can carry before it sinks. Great for experimenting and problem-solving.
🏖️ Beach Treasure Hunt
Create a tray with sand, shells, pebbles and small toys. Let your child search for hidden treasures and describe what they find.
