We provide an award winning and professional Funeral service on a full-time basis in a uniquely caring and family environment. Established in 1988 by Paddy and his wife Patricia Townley. Our family centred approach has children Paula and Aidan fully involved in the day to day contact with families, with Maurice & Barbara also involved. Our dedicated staff ensure that your loved one’s final journey

is arranged with meticulous attention to detail, in a dignified, compassionate and empathetic way. Our ethos has always been ‘Our family taking care of yours’. Our Funeral Home at Crosslanes, was completely renovated and extended in 2017 to offer families a tranquil setting to allow friends and family pay their final respects. With four separate viewing rooms, two arrangements rooms, a coffin show room, tearoom and shop providing signed Mass cards and flowers, we can comfortably cater for large numbers of mourners and there is ample secure, off-road parking. We continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to those that need us. All religious denomination funerals are catered for and we provide a complete repatriation service.

The death has occurred of Ann McCann, Riverview, Mell, Drogheda, Co. Louth. 12th June 2026. Peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with her loving daughter by her side. Predeceased by her beloved husband Paddy and parents Paddy and Vera. Cherished mother to Jennifer. Ann will be very sadly missed by her daughter, granddaughters Aoife and Emily, Jennifer’s partner J***y, brothers Tony and PJ, sister Mary, sisters-in-law Maura, Daphne and Aileen, brother-in-law Austin, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of close friends.

Peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Joe, son Paddy, grandsons Joseph, Ian and Eoin. Loving mam to Antoinette, Catherine, Margaret, Gerard and Raymond. Amy will be very sadly missed by her daughters, sons, son-in-law Brendan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends.

Peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her infant son James, daughter Bernadette, parents Lily and Paddy, brother Sonny and sister Maura (Flaherty). Beloved wife of Bernard and loving mam to John, Eilish, Helen, Dymphna and Bernard.

Eileen will be sadly missed by her husband, sons, and daughters, sons-in-law Maurice and Henry, daughters-in-law Carmel and Martina, grandchildren Jamie, Declan, Nicole, Seán, Connor, Courtney, Sénan, JJ and Cody, her 7 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Carrie, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

The family of the late Joe Meagher who passed away unexpectedly on the 16th of May would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who sympathised with us on our devastating loss. We greatly appreciate the messages, mass cards, flowers and condolences on RIP.ie. Hearing the many fond memories everyone shared of Joe was a great source of comfort.
Thank you to Fr John Conlon for such a lovely mass and fitting tribute to Joe, and to Sharon Gaynor for the beautiful music. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all our family, friends, neighbours and Joe’s former colleagues for coming together to support us at his reposal and funeral mass. Thank you to all the incredibly kind and respectful staff at P. Townley and Son’s Funeral Directors for organising such a beautiful celebration of Joe’s life.
Joe will be deeply missed and cherished forever by all his family and friends.
As it is impossible to thank everybody individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Joe’s months mind Mass will be held on the 14th of June at 11am in St Mary’s Church, James’ Street, which can be viewed live on www.stmarysdrogheda.ie.
