Summit Counselling and Psychotherapy

Summit Counselling and Psychotherapy Almost everyone at some point has felt lost in their life. It can feel like climbing a mountain. You can email, text or call to arrange a suitable time.

It could be ending of a relationship, anxiety over a job, grief of losing a loved one or feeling so depressed you have lost all hope. We can provide a space where you feel valued and understood, and you will feel safe knowing your experiences will be accepted. You can explore your experiences, at your own pace, creating a place for recovery and personal growth; allowing you to discover your path

to the summit by becoming the person you are meant to be. We truly believe counselling changes lives, and we have accompanied many people on their journey up the mountain. We have seen the wonderful impact counselling has on people, in helping them find their way to make the changes they want, to enjoy life again. If you choose Summit as your companion, you can expect a warm, empathetic and authentic relationship based on trust. We are currently offering counselling via video, telephone and in person. We offer an initial free 50-minute consultation to understand your situation, and for you and your counsellor to decide if they are the right to accompany you on your journey. If I don’t respond immediately, I may be with a client and I will respond within 1 business day.

This Friday at 1:00 PM, Eoghan O’Connor from Summit Counselling and Psychotherapy Swords will join Near FM 90.3 FM to discuss Music, Emotion, and Counselling: Finding Connection in Struggle.

Why can a song make us feel understood when words are hard to find?
Why do certain pieces of music stay with us for years?
And what can music teach us about emotional wellbeing, connection, and healing?

Eoghan will explore how music can help us process difficult emotions, feel less alone during difficult times, and support emotional regulation.

He’ll also discuss how counselling can offer a similar kind of connection through deep listening, understanding, and genuine human presence.

Loneliness in your 20s and 30s is more common than people think.

It’s something we hear a lot in counselling.

Life changes after school or college.
People move, get busy, drift.

And even when you’re around others, it can still feel like something’s missing.

Our counsellor Siobhan McCarthy will be speaking about this on Near FM this Friday at 1pm.

It’s an honest conversation about something many people experience but don’t always say out loud.

If it resonates, you’re not the only one 🤎

📻 Tune in Friday at 1pm on Near FM

Ever notice how many relationships struggle in January?

It’s rarely sudden.

It’s usually what’s been building for years.

More time together can make distance more obvious.
If this resonates, you’re not alone.

Does January change the way your relationship feels?

Nothing happened... or did it?

Christmas parties are usually harmless.
But every year in counselling in Swords, people can talk about the same kind of moment.

Not an affair.
Not betrayal.
Just a conversation that felt a bit closer than expected, and then didn’t quite leave their head afterwards.

This short video looks at how small moments at work Christmas parties can quietly affect relationships. Not because anyone planned it, but because emotional boundaries can shift without us noticing at the time.

If something hasn’t felt right since a Christmas party, or there’s been a bit of distance or tension at home, counselling can help you slow things down and understand what’s actually going on underneath it.

📍 In-person counselling in Swords, North County Dublin
Serving Swords, Malahide, Portmarnock, Skerries, Lusk and nearby areas.
