October has arrived.
I decided to take most of the month off to celebrate the transition into the 40th year of my life.
The first joy of the month has been my sister’s visit and our time together like we used to have! Precious moments ✨
The last year has been a year of transition on some level. I have given more attention to my personal life which I feel, I neglected in some way in the past as I was building my business and creating a beautiful community.
At this point I am in the process of making space to create space for both.
Giving time and attention to my personal relationships and moments of being, communing with nature is what fuels me and inspires me in the work I do.
I had a conversation with my sister that this is what I mean by ‘embodied’ - what are all the teachings and practices worth if we don’t embody them in our ordinary lives? It’s about enhancing our ordinary lives through awareness, practice to face the limitations of our mind, to embrace uncertainty and the unknown.
My biggest learning of the last year or so is that life is full of uncertainty and to be able to hold it and simultaneously enjoy little moments is such a gift.
As we constantly change so the truths we live by need to change for they too get outdated and become a limitation in how we want to show up in our fullest potential.
One of the important moments have been the trip to India where it became clear to me that I need to drop my identities (one of the kleshas in yoga is Asmita where we confuse our identities with our true self). They can really creep in on us but things will only come to the surface to the extent that we are ready to face them.
In the process of being really attached to the idea of building a community, I did build one which fills me up so much.
And I can see how much more we can see our true selves with the support of community. I see women from our bi-annual retreats connecting outside of the weekend, creating bonds, and growing together. These are small but important things.
And that truly matters to me ✨
I will continue into the month with more things planned to mark the occasion of being a real adult (😛).
Much love, X Anna
