👋 Meet Emma!

We’re delighted to introduce Emma, who has joined the Surgery Now team as our Partnership Development Consultant 🤝

Originally from Dublin 🇮🇪, Emma splits her time between Ireland and Spain 🇪🇸 and brings a wealth of experience from running her own business and helping people travel between the two countries.

Surgery Now is also personal to Emma, as her own mum had surgery with us. Having experienced the process first-hand as a family member, she understands how important it is for patients and their loved ones to know what options are available to them. ✨

Emma will be working alongside Rob, our Partnership Development Consultant, to spread the word about Surgery Now across Ireland, building relationships with GPs, physiotherapists, credit unions and other organisations.

Together, they’ll be helping more people understand the EU Cross-Border Directive, explore their options for treatment in Spain and learn about potential funding options through credit unions.

🌟 With her business experience, friendly approach and personal connection to Surgery Now, we’re delighted to have Emma on board and look forward to seeing her build new relationships with communities and partners across Ireland.

✨ A familiar face at Traumacare Clinic today!

Great to see our wonderful Patient Coordinator, Alex, covering for Scott while he enjoys a well-deserved break! 😊

Alan was in for his dressing change following surgery, while Damien attended his pre-surgery outpatient consultation with Dr Hugo Marquina to discuss his upcoming procedure.

We’re wishing Alan continued progress with his recovery and Damien all the very best as he prepares for surgery. ❤️‍🩹

At Surgery Now, it’s all about teamwork and making sure our patients feel comfortable, informed and well looked after throughout their journey. ✨

🤝 Stronger partnerships mean more people understanding their options.

Rob, our Development Partnership Consultant, recently spent the day with the team at Ballyfermot Inchicore Credit Union, following on from Leanne’s visit last year.

💬 During the session, Rob introduced staff to Surgery Now and explained how the Cross Border Directive can help eligible patients access treatment in Spain. He talked through the process from the patient’s perspective and highlighted how credit unions can help members better understand the options available to them.

✨ It’s great to continue building relationships with credit unions, sharing knowledge and helping more people feel informed and supported when exploring their healthcare options.

👏 A big thank you to everyone at Ballyfermot Inchicore Credit Union for the warm welcome and for taking the time to learn more about what we do.

✨ A familiar face back at Traumacare Clinic!

It was lovely to welcome Michael back to Spain for his second surgery with Surgery Now, alongside John and Patrick, who were also at the clinic yesterday with their wives ahead of surgery this morning.

There’s something lovely about patients sharing the experience together, having a chat, a few laughs and supporting one another along the way. ✨

Wishing Michael, John and Patrick a smooth recovery following their surgeries today. We look forward to following their progress over the coming days.

✨ What a team! ✨

There’s a lot that goes into a patient’s experience, from the organisation before surgery to the care they receive when they arrive in Spain and throughout their recovery.

Paul recently took the time to share his experience with Surgery Now, and his words really say it all.

“Everyone on the Surgery Now team brings their own qualities to the experience. The attention to detail, the way that everything was organised for me, meaning that I could concentrate on getting through the surgery & looking after myself. As for the hospital team, I must say that the healthcare & standards are the best l’ve ever experienced.

The surgeon even visited me after the surgery to make sure all was ok. For anybody on the fence, I would say that this is well worth it & the care is top notch. Thanks to everyone.

I couldn’t recommend these guys enough.”

They arrived here as complete strangers. 🇮🇪✈️🇪🇸

Different lives, different stories, but all with the same hope, to finally have a life with less pain and more freedom. ✨

Over the days, they shared the nerves, the laughs, the meals, the little chats in the hotel and those moments when sometimes you just need someone who understands exactly what you’re going through.

And somewhere along the way, something lovely happened. ✨

They became friends.

It’s one of the things we love most about seeing our patients here in Spain. Watching people who had never met before support each other, check in on each other and celebrate the little milestones together.

They came here as strangers, but they left with friendships they probably never expected to make. ❤️‍🩹

And we think that’s pretty special. ✨

We’re delighted to introduce you to Rob, who has joined the Surgery Now team as our Partnership Development Consultant. Originally from Cork, Rob now enjoys life in the Midlands and spends his time building relationships with GPs, physiotherapists, credit unions and other organisations across Ireland. 🇮🇪

Rob’s role is all about making connections and helping to spread awareness of the options available to people who may be facing long wait times for treatment. He is particularly passionate about the EU Cross Border Directive and helping people understand how it can provide another option for accessing eligible treatment in Spain. 🇪🇸

He also works closely with credit unions, helping members explore the funding options that may be available to them when considering surgery.

Rob is naturally calm, approachable and easy to talk to, and he enjoys meeting people and building genuine relationships.

We’re very happy to have Rob as part of the Surgery Now team and look forward to introducing him more to our patients and followers over the coming months. ✨
