🌸 A little look back at our week at St. Glady's Nursing Home ❤️

It's been another lovely week of activities, fun, reflection and special moments with family here at St. Glady’s 😊

♟️ Christopher enjoyed a game of chess with Declan, putting their thinking and strategy skills to the test 🤔

🎾 Kathleen, Gladys, Marie, Berne, Mary and Teresa got into the sporting spirit with a fun game of tennis, enjoying some gentle exercise, hand-eye coordination and plenty of laughs along the way 🎾

🙏 We were also delighted to welcome Fr. Bernard to celebrate Holy Mass here at St. Glady’s. For many of our residents, their faith is an important part of their lives, and having the opportunity to attend Mass in the comfort and familiarity of their home is something they truly value and appreciate.

❤️ And there was some precious family time for Marie, who enjoyed a lovely visit from her sister, who travelled from Wexford, along with her son and daughter.

It's these moments, whether enjoying activities with friends, practising their faith or spending quality time with loved ones, that make our days at St. Glady's Nursing Home so special 🥰

Yesterday we said a very special farewell to our Director of Nursing, Renjini, as she began her maternity leave.

Our residents and team would like to wish Renjini all the very best as she prepares to welcome her little one. We hope you have a safe and smooth delivery and a wonderful time enjoying those precious first moments with your new arrival.

While Renjini is away, Resmi will be stepping in as Director of Nursing. We wish Resmi every success in her new role and look forward to supporting her during Renjini’s absence.

We’ll miss you, Renjini, but we’ll be thinking of you and sending lots of love and best wishes for this very special time.

🎃 October is here… which means Halloween isn’t too far away 👻

We are already getting into the Halloween spirit here at St. Glady's Nursing Home and planning a spooktacular afternoon for our residents and their families 🧡
📅 Saturday, 31st October
⏰ 2.00pm – 4.00pm

There will be Halloween fun, treats and refreshments, and fancy dress is very welcome 🧙‍♀️🦇🎃

We wold love to see plenty of our residents’ families joining us for the afternoon, to make more lovely memories together. You are all very welcome.

Creative Cow Painting at St Glady’s

Tracey led our residents in a wonderfully creative painting session inspired by the famous cows of Ireland’s own Eoin O’Connor.

Paddy, Joseph, Kathleen, Hanna, Brandon and Ann all enjoyed getting involved, adding their own colours, personalities and creative touches to their very own cows.

It was lovely to see everyone getting stuck in and having fun with the paint. Each cow was as unique as the resident who created it.

A big thank you to Tracey for leading such a fun and colourful activity and to everyone who took part.

Double the Birthdays, Double the Celebrations at St Gladys.

Last Friday was a very special day here at St Gladys, as we celebrated the birthdays of two wonderful ladies, both named Marie. 🥰🎂

It was lovely to see both Maries enjoying their special day surrounded by their families, love, laughter and plenty of happy memories.

Birthdays are always worth celebrating, but sharing these special moments with the people we love makes them even more precious. 💐

🌿 A Little Time to Relax & Recharge at St. Glady's Nursing Home 🌿

This week, our wonderful team at St. Glady’s Nursing Home enjoyed some well-deserved time dedicated to relaxation and wellbeing.

💆‍♀️ Staff were treated to relaxing aromatherapy massages, using soothing oils and ointments – a lovely opportunity to switch off and unwind.

🎨 Afterwards, the relaxation continued with some mindful colouring – a simple but enjoyable way to slow down, chat and enjoy a little time together.

Caring for our residents is at the heart of everything we do at St. Glady’s, and it is equally important that we recognise and support the wellbeing of the people who provide that care every day.

A lovely week of relaxation, connection and a little well-deserved TLC for our team. 💚

While our days are all about caring for and supporting our residents, it is also important to make time to enjoy each other’s company away from work.

There were plenty of smiles, laughs and good company as members of our St. Glady’s team enjoyed a well-deserved night out together. 💃🥂

Behind the care we provide every day is a wonderful team of people – and evenings like this are a lovely opportunity to relax, catch up and simply have some fun together.🎉

A Beautiful Moment at St. Glady's Nursing Home

Sometimes it’s the simplest moments that are the most special. 💛

As Mikey sang Can’t Help Falling in Love, our wonderful Brandon joined in — and what a beautiful, sweet voice he has 👏🥰👏 🎤

Breda and Berne couldn’t resist joining in too, turning it into a lovely singalong for everyone to enjoy.

Music has such a wonderful way of bringing people together — encouraging memories, smiles, connection and, sometimes, discovering a voice we just have to hear again 😊

Just another little glimpse of nursing home life at St. Glady’s Nursing Home — where shared moments like these can make an ordinary day very special. 💙

Last Friday was filled with a lovely mix of bingo, colouring and plenty of smiles at St Gladys.

Our residents enjoyed getting together for some friendly bingo, followed by some relaxing colouring and creative time.

It’s always lovely to see everyone getting involved, having a chat and enjoying each other’s company. There may even have been a little competitive spirit during the bingo!
