‼️ Twenty Years & More Good News ‼️

By now, you'll have read that the podcast is back. You can listen to the first episode on Vision Boards - something I've taught several patients to make with great success.

But today, I write for another reason, with some huge news I haven't had the chance to publicly announce yet...

I started the year with the news my martial arts club had won Club of the Year at the 1st ever Irish Martial Arts Awards presented by the Irish Martial Arts Commission and Sport Ireland. This was incredibly awesome and unexpected, but the best was yet to come...

Shortly after, I learned that I had won🏆☯️Acupuncture Clinic of the Year ☯️🏆 for the second year in a row! And I was presented with this big, heavy, gold trophy!

I’m incredibly honoured and grateful to have been named Acupuncture Clinic of the Year for the second consecutive year. Receiving this award again is both humbling and deeply meaningful. It reflects the trust my patients place in me, the dedication I bring to every treatment, and the privilege of supporting people through some of the most important moments of their lives. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with your care, shared your experiences, and supported my clinic over the last 20 years! (Yes! This June, I crossed the 20-year mark!)

This award is especially rewarding because it recognises the work we continue to do in areas that matter so deeply to me - helping individuals and couples on their fertility and reproductive health journeys, and supporting people living with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis to improve their quality of life. Every success story, no matter how big or small, is a reminder of why I do this work. Thank you for being part of this journey - I’m excited to continue learning, improving, and helping even more people in the years ahead.

Thank you for your continued trust and support - it truly means the world to me.

💥The Podcast is Back! 💥

Finally, after much demand and request - my new podcast with Stephen Milton has launched!!! Fighting Tengu has evolved and expanded into 2nd Dojo!

Our first podcast, Fighting Tengu, was exceptionally well-received. 5-star reviews all around and a top placing in the Irish Mental Health podcast space. It really helped people - and people that had no clue about martial arts!

So, taking that early success, and recognising the need for a more open approach, we decided to invite everyone into our 2nd Dojos space🤺

In this podcast series, 2nd Dojo continues the work started in Fighting Tengu and opens it to a broader range of topics and a more accessible format.

Here we take the lessons learned in the dojo and use those same strategies and tactics to tackle the battles of daily life. I hope these principles help you, just as much as they have helped Stephen and I.

Episode 1 - Visions 👀 is out now!

Ever wondered why some people seem to effortlessly attract opportunities while others struggle to make progress despite their best efforts? In this episode, we explore the science and art of vision boards, manifestation, and goal-setting through the lens of one of the greatest film trilogies ever made.

Starting with a nostalgic dive into the Back to the Future films, we uncover how Marty McFly's fading photograph and his letter to Doc Brown perfectly illustrate the power of visualising your future. We also explore Bruce Lee's remarkable "Definite Chief Aim" letter and how elite athletes like Michael Phelps use mental imagery to achieve extraordinary results.

We also share some genuinely uncanny personal stories about vision boards that manifested in unexpectedly specific ways, from winning €10,000 from Lyon's Tea to ending up in the exact house that appeared on a vision board years earlier.

This episode is for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed by choices, or uncertain about their direction in life.

By the end of this episode, you'll have everything you need to write your own letter to Doc Brown and go back to your future.

"My journey in the martial arts with MS has taught me to endure. So I will. My bokutō keeps telling me to rise. The commandment is carved in the wood. On bad days, I look for the bright spots — lights to guide the way forward and keep going." – MS & Me blogger Batman O'Brien

In the latest MS & Me blog, part of our A to Z of MS series, I share my story for "K is for Keep Going" — reflecting on pain, perseverance, and finding strength through martial arts.

It's out! Check out my guest appearance on the living with MS Podcast. I talk about my initial diagnosis, the role of acupuncture, my history with Multiple Sclerosis before my diagnosis, what life is like living with my wife who has MS and what that taught me before my own diagnosis, my martial arts and the support I recieve from the community, stress reduction techniques, breathing methods and more.

Our second guest on the new Living with MS Podcast is the new MS & Me Blogger Paul Batman O'Brien. Listen here https://shows.acast.com/living-with-ms/episodes/paul-batman-obrien

Paul Batman O'Brien is a health professional and martial artist who has a passion for supporting people's wellbeing. He has a special interest in supporting people with MS, including his wife, whom he met in 2009.

In 2020, after 14 years of working with MS patients, Paul took on another important case - himself. Using a variety of the mental and physical tools he had used for over a decade with others, he applied them to himself.

The Living with MS Podcast series aims to give a voice to the Irish MS community as our guests share their own personal multiple sclerosis story from diagnosis to today.

24/06/2025

Tomorrow, my guest episode of The Living with MS Podcast comes out! Available on all podcast platforms, I'll be taking about my initial Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, my background in working with MS, what I learned from my wife, who was diagnosed with MS at 18, my current mindset and what I do to stay healthy today. Check out the preview below.
