Hayoka Yoga with Amy Kokoszka

Hayoka Yoga with Amy Kokoszka Sharing Ideas on Yin and Ashtanga Yoga, Nutrition, Meditation, Addiction, Loving and Letting Go.

Hayoka is a Native American term given to me when I was a young girl. My hope is that I can help those around me to be catalyst for their own change; through my teaching of yoga, on my intimate retreats and through discussion on being a wild and free human in this day and age.

A new Sunday morning yoga class is beginning in Clonakilty on September 6 at 10:00 a.m.

This class is open to women and men, beginners and experienced practitioners.

We begin by becoming quiet enough to hear what the body is asking for. Some days that may be strength or mobility. Other days it may be steadiness, deeper breathing or rest.

Although we practise as a group, options are offered posture by posture, allowing each person to work with their own body.

We will explore movement, strength, mobility, breathwork, meditation, restorative yoga and deep rest. The eight limbs of yoga will also be subtly interwoven into the physical practice.

This is yoga as moving mindfulness.

The awareness we develop through practice can influence how we move through our everyday lives. It can support how we train outside of yoga, how we interact with our families, how present we are in our work and how we respond to the world around us.

Sundays, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

“Don’t move she said, you’re glowing. 💔 “

In a world that is so disconnected from what’s important, it’s good to remember that beauty is seen through the eyes of the curious. The eyes of the soul, not just the young soul, the old soul, the souls that gets nurtured and remains curious about the natural world!

My goddaughter took this photo of me. She sees me as light and loves me so dearly.

She woke me last night scared. So we took our blankets and layed under the stars and just looked. There were way more satellites than I remember, but it was so magical. Darkness everywhere, laying on the grass at 1 am talking about fear, and love and stars and more.

Stay open and curious. We all have that magic within. We just have to nurture it.

Have a great weekend.

Love you all statistically.

We’re now inviting applications for 12 women to join us in Goa, India, from February 18 to 24, 2027.

Between us, we’ve spent decades working with women in India and Ireland. Different cultures. Different lives. Many of the same questions. This retreat is where those two worlds meet.

We’ve called it Eat, Pray, Love.

Not because of the book.

Because we believe these are practices worth learning.

As women moving into one of the most powerful stages of our lives, we know there is important work to do. But before we can do that work, the first powerful work is the work we do within ourselves.

Learning to eat with intention.

Learning to pray. Not in the dogmatic sense, but as a way of becoming deeply connected to life.

Learning to love well.

This season of life has been called many things. The Wise Woman years. The Season of Becoming. The Age of Freedom.

Maybe.

Or maybe these are simply our untamed years. Our attuned years. The years we finally understand where our attention belongs. The years we learn to love well.

We’ll spend six nights together in an exquisitely restored boutique home in Goa, surrounded by palm trees, sharing decadent meals, meaningful conversations, movement, workshops, laughter, stillness, and enough space to hear ourselves think again.

I don’t know what you’ll take home.

Maybe it’s a lightbulb moment.

Maybe it’s a deep sense of renewal.

Maybe it’s courage.

Maybe it’s a promise you make to yourself.

Maybe it’s simply the feeling that something has quietly shifted.

What I do know is this: it is impossible to gather twelve women with this much purpose, curiosity, and generosity, and not leave with something that matters.

We’re now welcoming applications.

If February in Goa is calling you, we’d love to hear from you.

An application is required to attend.

You’ll find the application form through the link in both Amy’s and Sujaya’s bios. Once we receive your application, we’ll send you everything you need to know.

With grateful hearts,

Amy & Sujaya

There is an inadequacy that we collectively may feel.

Whether we are buying basic products or services. And so I feel the need to break down some basic principles here.

We as women naturally go through various initiations in our lives. Sometimes people get stuck in old patterns. These old patterns are exactly that, a loop of repetition of doing the same thing and expecting different results.

For example if you’re burnt out but yet keep ‘pushing through’ or if you are unhappy in your physical body yet continue to have the same patterns of eating and movement. If you continue to play the victim in a situation but yet are unwilling to move out of the old pattern of identifying as the victim.

Breaking cycles and gaining confidence come with change, we all know that.

Have you ever had a conversation with another woman/ person and experienced an aha moment, you sense and feel what little thing you might do to shift your experience. Once you have this knowing it is now your time to take action. That is your job, as an adult.

Sometimes we need a teacher to hold space for us to experience that yet other times we do not. I just want us to be honest about what we are experiencing as woman. Witnessing another or self is so profoundly powerful.

There is no right time to trust yourself, we need to begin that process now, that is intuition.

More and more woman are being honest about their life experiences and this is refreshing, it’s raw it’s what I want to hear and be part of.

As for initiation my beautiful women/ men… we experience these naturally as we move through life, no one stays the same, some of us may get stuck in a pattern but it’s possible to break that pattern, it’s possible to regain that sense of self awareness, self belonging, that strength.

Action creates confidence. Intuition is strengthened by action, and initiation (the natural process) is solidified through knowing, through listening, through sharing and telling of story. And as a teacher through witnessing. No one is gonna take you through it, the only thing a teacher can do is describe through story, her direct experience or share stories of the experience to help you shif

Oh Sunshine I need to feel you deep in my bones. Normally I offer these juice retreats over a weekend and generally in Ireland. But I have never felt my best like I have when the sun is penetrating my bones, when juices are just being ready for me, when I can share the experience with other people, and allow space for me to fully turn off for the world and all the responsibilities! This is the magic!

I have heard a lot of people talk about retreats as if they are out of session, as if doing the a retreat had less value than doing deep personal work or group work. Look, if you take the time to really care for your physical body the affects will meet your mental state. Yes interpersonal work is important, I love sharing this with groups, but this time in nature, with the intention to detox the body, remove the distractions and focus on feeling better is very underrated.

If I were ever to become ill the first thing I would do is start with a detox. The bodies intelligence is incredible. I sense that so many of us walk around detached from what our bodies are trying to tell us. The little aches, the upset stomachs, the headaches, the burnout, and the overwhelm. Coming back into balance requires time. Simple undisturbed time. Carrying water and chopping wood. (An old Zen Buddhist saying. The work you need to do is simple, not complicated.

Sometimes the deep inner personal work happens when you just look after the basics, when you don’t over complicate things.

This retreat is 5 night and 6 days. We begin on a Tuesday and end on a Sunday with the option to extend to Monday.

Flights to Faro are exceptional at the moment.

It’s that time of the year when we are yearning for sun, doing our best to feel better and overdosing on vitamin D. I work with a lot of women and many can attest to the benefits of a reset, a deep cleanse of the system. One good detox can change your mood entirely. You begin remember what it is to feel amazing and you leave with tools to maintain that feeling.

Detoxing our bodies and bringing awareness to our nervous systems is a game changer. The bodies intelligence and awareness of what it needs and what it does not need are magnified on these weekends. This is not just about getting ride of the excess stored s@“t in the intestinal track, (although that can happen) this is about giving that second brain a chance to think, digest and get clear.

How you absorb nutrients and process waist, the way your brain functions and your immune system responds to a light cleanse is remarkable.

Whether you have chronic pain, struggle with menopause symptoms, or perimenopause,
or you are trying to get pregnant, drop weight, clear your mind and just feel better, any and all of these reasons are reasons to join.

We turn off our phones, bring our wellies, bathing suits, books, journals that favourite cozy set and we show up to be in nature and with other like minded woman.

Please send a private message to join. Or to ask any question you may have.

Did I mention it is in one of the prettiest locations in West Cork. Well one of my favourites. .hideaways

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Much love.
Amy

I had to commit. I still do.
To steadiness. To self honesty. To staying with what is real.

Resurrection, for me, is not belief.
It is a slow rebuilding through discipline and repetition.

Women Who Run With the Wolves is complex.
This is an active study and a somatic practice.
We work with the material through the body, not just the mind.

I am doing this work myself.

Begins January 26th. Sundays 7 to 9 PM GMT.
Message me Ready.
