Seven women.

One walk.

Cuppas and buns.

Lots of laughs.

New conversations.

Fresh air and sunshine.

Sometimes we think we need to do something extraordinary to feel better.

Today reminded me that some of the best things in life are wonderfully ordinary.

Connection really is the best medicine. 🤍

Thanks to everyone who came along today. I think we all left a little happier than we arrived. ❤️

When invited us out for the afternoon, I thought we were just going on a boat trip…

Turns out we had…

🐐 Goat combat.

💋 Practised our kissing on the goats.

☕ Gossiped over cuppas on the dock.

😂 Laughed until our faces hurt.

I’ve accepted something…

I’m never going to act my age. 😂

Give me a fast boat.
An amazing friend.
A few seals.
Some sunshine…

…and I’m in my element. ❤️

The older I get, the less interested I am in behaving…
and the more interested I am in feeling alive.

Find your people.

The ones you can be completely yourselves with. ❤️

Permission granted… 🤍

Let your inner lunatic shine.

Thanks to for a wonderful day out

I often feel guilty doing nothing.

I always think I should be exploring more, working more or making the most of every minute.

But this week I’ve done something a bit mad…

Nothing.

Well… apart from floating in the sea, eating Italian food, enjoying gelato and lying under a parasol.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, I realised something…

Rest isn’t wasted time.

Sometimes it’s exactly what our bodies are craving. It’s also an opportunity to hear ourselves think again.

We spend so much of life rushing from one thing to the next.

Maybe the bravest thing we can do every now and then… is simply slow down. ❤️

Do you ever struggle to give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing?

I’ve learnt not to wait until my life is falling apart before I look after myself. ❤️

We spend so much of our lives waiting…

Waiting until we’re exhausted.
Waiting until we’re overwhelmed.
Waiting until we’re burnt out.

Looking after yourself shouldn’t be something you do when you’re running on empty/ feeling overwhelmed.

It should be part of how you live.

This week, my therapy looks like sunshine, sea and switching off for a few days. ☀️🌊🇮🇹

Yours might be a walk in nature, a coffee with a friend, a yoga class, a good book or simply an hour to yourself.

Whatever it is… don’t wait until your life is falling apart to make yourself a priority. ❤️

What does “therapy” look like for you? I’d love to hear in the comments. 💛

People often say,

“I must read your memoir.”

The truth is…

I didn’t write a memoir.

I wrote the book I wish someone had handed me when I felt stuck.

It’s about learning to stop waiting for someone else to make you happy.

It’s about believing your best years might still be ahead of you.

It’s about taking responsibility for your own life.

My bike and travel were just part of the story.

The real journey was learning to build a life I genuinely wanted to wake up to.

If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s too late to start again…

I hope this book reminds you that it isn’t.

❤️ Life Is A Cycle isn’t about my life.

It’s about helping you believe in yours.
