Massey Bros. have been serving the people of Dublin city and county since the 1930's. Respect, compassion, trust and openness are the hallmarks of our service.

is a family owned and managed business which was established in Dublin in the 1930s. Today, we have ten branches across Dublin and arrange funerals all over Ireland. We also specialise in the international repatriation of remains from overseas to Ireland and from Ireland overseas as well as ‘pre-planned’ funerals. We have earned a reputation for providing a service which encompasses sensitivity and confidentiality in respect of every request and detail involved in providing for the wishes of the deceased and bereaved. We are member of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and subscribe to its Code of Practice & Customer Care Charter.

Join us for a very special evening of music and entertainment *in aid of St Nicholas of Myra Church, Francis Street*.

Featuring special guest and Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh, with performances from:

It was a great honour for Massey Bros. to be entrusted with Brenda Fricker’s funeral arrangements and to help those closest to her say goodbye.

Brenda was one of Ireland’s most gifted and distinctive actors. A trailblazer, a proud Dubliner and the first Irish woman to win an Academy Award, she brought extraordinary honesty, warmth and humanity to her work. Her performances touched people at home and around the world, but she always remained unmistakably herself: warm, witty, honest and deeply connected to the Liberties community she called home.

Her farewell in the heart of the Liberties was something very special. The warmth of the community, the applause on Meath Street and the celebration of her remarkable life made it a deeply moving and fitting goodbye to a true Dublin legend. The Liberties is also part of Massey Bros.’ own history, with our story beginning on Thomas Street. Seeing the community come together to honour Brenda with such warmth, pride and affection was a moving reminder of what makes this part of Dublin so special.

Our thoughts remain with Brenda’s family, friends and all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

It was a profound privilege for Massey Bros. to care for Glen Hansard and support his family at such a difficult time.

The service at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, and the sight of so many people gathering across Dublin to pay their respects, was an extraordinarily moving tribute and reflected just how much he meant to so many.

Above all, this was a deeply personal farewell for Glen’s family and loved ones, who remain very much in our thoughts.

Go Pico! 🇨🇻⚽

Massey Bros. Crumlin is delighted to sponsor a special neighbourhood party this evening in honour of Pico Lopes, right here on his home turf.

The team are busy setting up now, with Domino's pizzas, drinks, an outdoor screen, and plenty of excitement for the adults and children as everyone gets ready for tonight’s big match. This is exactly what makes Crumlin so special - that real neighbourhood feeling, where people come together to celebrate one of their own.

All of Crumlin is so proud of Pico and what he has achieved. We are wishing Pico and the entire Cape Verde team the very best of luck as they take on the mighty Argentina.

It looks like it will be a late night and we have no doubt they will have all of Ireland cheering them on!

A fantastic day at the annual Woodbrook Community Support Day at Woodbrook Golf Club, Shanganagh.

As a proud local company, Massey Bros. Funerals was delighted to sponsor a full day of golf. It was great to see such an excellent turnout, with so many people coming together to enjoy the day. The weather couldn’t have been better, making it a perfect day on the course.

An interesting article featured in yesterday’s Irish Independent explores the growing role of AI in the funeral profession, including a contribution from Sean Byrne, one of our arrangers based in our Blackrock branch.

At Massey Bros., we see AI as a helpful support tool when used in the right way. It can help restore old photographs, improve image quality, adjust images for funeral home screens and assist with translation when liaising with funeral directors overseas during repatriations. These practical uses can make a real difference for families during a difficult time.

However, we are also very aware of where AI has its limits. A eulogy or tribute should feel genuine, personal and human. AI may help someone organise their thoughts or shorten a piece of writing, but it should not replace the stories, memories and natural imperfections that make a tribute meaningful.

Our view is simple: technology can support funeral care, but it should never replace empathy, judgement, transparency or the personal guidance families need.

Massey Bros. was delighted to organise and sponsor “Celebrating Two Great Friends – A Lifetime of Music”, which took place last weekend at Erin’s Isle GAA Club in Finglas.
The event brought the local community together for a fantastic evening of live music, memories and entertainment, celebrating the songs of Dickie Rock and Billy Hughes. Guests enjoyed a brilliant performance from Eugene McCarthy & The Sugarcubes Band, along with a wonderful line-up of special guests including Johnny Peters, Karen Black, Mary Byrne, Jason Rock and Tommy Carey.
It was a great night of fun and community spirit, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to support local community groups in Finglas and Cabra.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, performed, helped organise the event and supported the evening. Massey Bros. is proud to support local initiatives that bring people together and make a positive difference in the communities we serve.

What a special evening on Friday ✨

St Bernadette’s Church was filled with music, warmth and community spirit as the Ceol Aoine Choir brought Movies & Musicals to life. With wonderful performances from June Rodgers and the full choir, it was a night to remember in a truly beautiful setting.

Events like this are a lovely reminder of the strength and connection within our local community ❤️
