Feet work hard every day, often carrying loads several times body weight during walking and exercise. Despite this, foot health is commonly overlooked until everyday activities begin to feel less comfortable. Factors such as footwear, movement habits, and standing time can all influence how the feet function over time.

Exploring foot mobility and support options can provide useful insight into daily movement and long-term comfort. A Free Discovery Visit offers the opportunity to discuss common concerns, learn more about foot function, and explore available approaches designed to support comfortable movement and mobility.

The feet act as the body’s foundation, helping absorb impact and maintain balance throughout the day. When foot mechanics change, it can influence movement patterns in the ankles, knees, hips, and lower back. Small changes in mobility or support may become more noticeable during walking, exercise, or long periods of standing.

Taking time to better understand foot function can help individuals explore ways to support daily movement and comfort. A Free Discovery Visit provides an opportunity to ask questions, discuss foot-related concerns, and learn more about available options in a supportive environment.

Rory McIlroy recently revealed that a painful blister under his pinky toenail forced him to cut practice short — even admitting he “ripped the toenail off” to deal with it.

A small foot problem can have a big impact, especially when walking, training, and shoe pressure are involved.

The takeaway? Toe pain is never “just a small thing” — friction, nail trauma, and shoe fit matter.

At Foot Focus, we see how the right assessment and footwear advice can make all the difference.

Getting the right support for foot health shouldn’t feel complicated. From the first visit, the focus is on understanding how the feet are functioning, identifying the source of common discomfort, and guiding individuals toward appropriate solutions.

Heel issues, arch discomfort, and ongoing foot concerns are common among active adults, and having clear information can make a meaningful difference. When the underlying factors are better understood, it becomes easier to make informed decisions with confidence.

“Tissue capacity” is a term we use a lot in rehab…

But what does it actually mean?

Put simply, it’s your body’s ability to handle load —
whether that’s walking 🚶‍♀️, keeping active, or just getting through a busy day on your feet.

A helpful way to think about it is like strength training 💪

When you start, you begin with what feels manageable.
It might feel a little challenging… and sometimes a bit sore the next day.

But over time, with consistent and appropriate loading,
your body adapts 🌿

You get stronger
You tolerate more
And things that once felt difficult start to feel easier

The same principle applies to tendons, muscles, and other soft tissues.

When pain develops, it’s often not because something is “damaged” —
but because the load being placed on your body is more than it’s currently ready for ⚖️

Rehab is about gently and gradually building that capacity back up again.

Looking after your feet isn’t about doing less…
it’s about doing the right amount, in the right way 👣
