Recently, I worked with a client in their 70s within the framework of Functional Naturopathy.
Using the science-based testing I currently offer, we explored their health status and biomarkers, giving us greater insight into what was happening within their biological system.
Alongside this, I drew on a combination of the older modalities I have trained in over the years.
Everything I have learned has brought me to where I am today.
I’m not replacing those modalities — I’m integrating them with the science-based testing I now offer.
Through gentle somatic work, this client connected with sensations held in their body from many different events throughout their life, all carrying a common theme:
“I have to do more, it’s my responsibility”
These beliefs had been formed in early childhood, shaping their self-worth and self-esteem and, over time, contributing to the physical, chemical and mental load they were carrying.
For me, assessing the biomarkers first is an important part of creating the conditions for transformational work to happen as safely and appropriately as possible.
In this case, the results indicated that their biological system had sufficient support to engage in this work.
That allowed us to gently explore what was ready to be explored, without forcing, rushing or pushing beyond their threshold.
And this is what excites me about the way I work now ❤️
It isn’t about one modality being better than another.
It’s about understanding what the individual needs, when they need it, and working within their capacity.
The combination of everything I’ve learned, together with the science-based testing I now offer, is creating a much more integrated approach — and I’m seeing the potential for profound, long-lasting transformational change✨️
Everything has its place.
When we create safety, provide appropriate support and honour the individual’s pace…
Amazing things can happen. ✨
Safe space.
Supported body.
Transformational change.
