Hugely honoured to see Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths included in a recent National Geographic ( National Geographic ) article highlighting seaweed bathing in Ireland.

As anyone will know from growing up with National Geographic, the monthly print was one of the earliest ways of getting an introduction to the diversity of peoples and wonders of landscapes throughout the four corners of our world via their timeless journals and photographs.

When we embarked on our seaweed bath journey in 2018, one of the primary goals we set out and aspired to achieve and meet were the very high standards set by the likes of Kilcullens Seaweed Bathhouse in Enniscrone and VOYA Seaweed Baths at Strandhill and so it is also a huge honour to be mentioned alongside these industry leaders in Ireland in 2026.

Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths were absolutely delighted to recently be awarded a certificate of achievement for sustainable tourism by The Burren UNESCO and Geo Park Code of Practice - independently audited and recognised by EarthCheck, a leading global sustainable tourism certification body.

In operation over 8 years and the first in Ireland or worldwide to offer seaweed baths using upcycled whiskey barrels in an outdoor place of outstanding natural beauty, we have always placed a significant emphasis on aspiring to achieve best practice in sustainability and the reduction of our impact on the environment which led to us over the past 4 years also designing and building our own heat recovery system which this year allows us to reduce our carbon footprint by approximately 35 to 40%.

And so after years of huge effort by our team we are hugely grateful and proud to be awarded such a coveted certificate for sustainability with more plans in the pipeline.

Huge congrats to all of our colleague members of the Burren Ecotourism Network who were also awarded certificates and a massive thank you for the continued support we continue to receive in Doolin from locals as well as people from all over Ireland and the world.

We had an unexpected visitor this morning!!!!

Very familiar with the North Atlantic Ocean Water but quickly becoming fond of the heated version 😄

Our seaweed baths are open Wednesday to Sunday.
