As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment and sustainability, for the past number of years we’ve been operating our own heat recovery system, designed and built in-house.

They ain’t pretty, but these tanks have been responsible for reducing the carbon footprint at Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths by approximately 35% over the past three and a half years.

As many visitors to our seaweed baths will have noticed, once a bath is finished, we extract the used seawater while it is still warm. This water is then pumped through our heat recovery system, where the remaining heat is used to preheat the incoming seawater.

Importantly, whilst heat is transferred from the used water to the incoming water, the two liquids never mix. This ensures that the heated seawater used in our seaweed baths remains in pristine condition.

However, between seawater corrosion and electrolysis — both of which we did our best to mitigate — the tanks eventually reached the end of their working life and had to be replaced in recent months.

THE ROLE & WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• High-standard customer service — Welcoming people from all over Ireland and the world to our seaweed baths.
• Strong team player attitude — Working with our onsite team to deliver an excellent, high-standard service.
• Eager to learn and develop a strong understanding of our daily operations.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all elements, at an incredible location overlooking Doolin Pier, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cliffs of Moher.
• First Aid certification is preferred, but not essential.
• Own transport is essential.

HOURS & SEASONALITY:

Autumn/Winter: Reduced / part-time hours
Spring/Summer: Open up to 4–5 days per week

A huge thanks from everyone at the Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths team to all our guests from around the country and throughout the world for visiting our seaweed baths at Doolin Pier on the west coast of Ireland this year 🙏

We are delighted to announce our current season will continue as planned until the end of October but we have also just extended the schedule for our seaweed baths and sauna to include Fridays and Saturdays via our website right throughout the Autumn and Winter and so if you if you have enjoyed a seaweed bath with us throughout the incredible year we've had in Ireland, as many will vouch, our seaweed baths are also an immersive and deeply relaxing experience on a cold winters day.

And as always, massive thanks to all the residents and local businesses in Doolin for the very warm welcome we have and continue to receive since setting up @ Doolin Pier in June 2024.

Hugely honoured to see Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths included in a recent National Geographic ( National Geographic ) article highlighting seaweed bathing in Ireland.

As anyone will know from growing up with National Geographic, the monthly print was one of the earliest ways of getting an introduction to the diversity of peoples and wonders of landscapes throughout the four corners of our world via their timeless journals and photographs.

When we embarked on our seaweed bath journey in 2018, one of the primary goals we set out and aspired to achieve and meet were the very high standards set by the likes of Kilcullens Seaweed Bathhouse in Enniscrone and VOYA Seaweed Baths at Strandhill and so it is also a huge honour to be mentioned alongside these industry leaders in Ireland in 2026.

Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths were absolutely delighted to recently be awarded a certificate of achievement for sustainable tourism by The Burren UNESCO and Geo Park Code of Practice - independently audited and recognised by EarthCheck, a leading global sustainable tourism certification body.

In operation over 8 years and the first in Ireland or worldwide to offer seaweed baths using upcycled wh***ey barrels in an outdoor place of outstanding natural beauty, we have always placed a significant emphasis on aspiring to achieve best practice in sustainability and the reduction of our impact on the environment which led to us over the past 4 years also designing and building our own heat recovery system which this year allows us to reduce our carbon footprint by approximately 35 to 40%.

And so after years of huge effort by our team we are hugely grateful and proud to be awarded such a coveted certificate for sustainability with more plans in the pipeline.

Huge congrats to all of our colleague members of the Burren Ecotourism Network who were also awarded certificates and a massive thank you for the continued support we continue to receive in Doolin from locals as well as people from all over Ireland and the world.

We had an unexpected visitor this morning!!!!

Very familiar with the North Atlantic Ocean Water but quickly becoming fond of the heated version 😄

Our seaweed baths are open Wednesday to Sunday.
