The collaboration between the National Optometry Centre and the Capuchin Day Centre was a great success! This project provided our students with an invaluable hands-on experience, offering skills and insights that simply can’t be gained in the classroom.

A huge thank you to our technician, Vinicius Russo, and Clinic Manager, Arlene Fox, for their planning and organisation in bringing this project to life. We are also grateful to Brian Friel, CEO of the Capuchin Day Centre, for supporting and facilitating this collaboration.

Special thanks to our Supervising Optometrist, Orla Murphy, who accompanied the students each week and guided them through every eye examination.

We’d also like to extend our thanks to Siobhán Daly, Head of the School of Physics, Clinical and Optometric Sciences, for her continued support.

Finally, thank you to all the patients who attended each week, and to our fantastic TUD Optometry students for their hard work and professionalism.
